Exactly this. I find the idea that lifeβs outside the USA can be sacrificed to distract from a domestic story repugnant. Itβs an example of the navel gazing self centered politics that is somewhat responsible for where we are

Film & TV Editor, DGC. Mostly posts about the (W)NBA, MLB and nerd things. In their Dale Cooper era. Nice. Used to run Swear Trek. π―π²ππ. Always read the ALT text. https://m.imdb.com/name/nm8364481/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_0_nm_8_in_0_q_kris%2520myers

Imagine - a World Without Nukes
You ever wonder what the world would be like if Nuclear Disarmament Activism wasn't as toothless as it is now?
They really shouldn't
I have no smoke for John - it's the reaction that this entire situation has caused that's been extremely troubling. Something that could have been entirely avoided if the BBC edited out his gaff in the first place.
That's not what I'm referring to.
It's the fist logo
Also - just the layers of ablism and racism that have been on display lately... smh
The more I see the reactions, the more I'm convinced that this may have been an op
A clenched fist, resembling the black power symbol, is on a poster with the text "spunk for milk - I stand with John & others with Tourettes (no apologies)
Re: the BAFTA incident, there's been a very sus meme circulating in some of the Tourette's Syndrome communities that has been making me go "hmmmm..."
I wonder what inspired that logo...
#baftas
Reversely, I got rejected for a job I applied to, only to realize I accidentally wrote their rival company in my cover letter π
Yourself, but as a cartoon

It's also that!
All of those things, and also to a lesser extent - It's hurting every other industry that relies on tech. Data centres are hoarding up RAM, Hardrives and GPUs.
Small example: I'm a Film & TV Editor, and the PC I built last summer for work would cost me over 50% (2 months rent!) more to build now.
Julie Brown - Lord Protector of England
Pronce is not a typo, btw. It's a portmanteau
The Brits will get it
Pronce Andrew getting arrested on his Birthday?
King Charles releasing a statement that's the Firm's equivalent of "shrugging one's shoulders?"
Gotta love that dry, British wit.

Even the older folks seem less literate these days
I wanted it because I heard the transfers were really good. Alex beat me to the punch
Connery just already starts off as experienced by nature of starting him with Dr. No as opposed to Casino Royale, I think. Bond's Relationship to Continuity in terms of the films have always been a bit tenuous so I'm not going to live or die where people decide to mark them
If I get the sense that a Bond is retraining to be a Double-00 or feels like a more recent one, that's where I tend to mark them. Dalton is going through training exercises in his first scenes in TLD, so I mark it there. Same with Craig in Casino Royale
I think you could make an argument for any grouping
Connery/Lazenby/Moore then Dalton/Brosnan than Craig
I do this with my Mama and Gramma, too
They want that blueberry danish
TRUST
You see that 6 pack of gluten-free chocolate cupcakes that your girl loves has one of them 30% off stickers at the grocery store?
That's the smartest $5.00 or less you will spend that month
Especially if it's that time of the month
This is exactly what I mean
You know what the girls, gays and theys want?
They want you to get them a baked good on the way home from your Doctor's Appointment on a Tuesday morning
I bet good money that you don't even need to spend good money to make her feel special if you've been paying attention
Yeah - It'll be interesting to just do a reappraisal of them, too. Age and filmmaking experience has changed how I critique movies for sure
I think what I'm probably gonna do is write a retrospective on James Bond home releases. I still have my BluRay copies, and some DVDs and VHS, too.
I mean - content, yes, but since the last time I wrote about 007, I've become an actual Film Editor & worked on Digital Archives.
