Thanks Jeff!
Thanks Jeff!
2nd game of day 2 here at Buckeye Game Fest is Chicago ‘68 from The Dietz Foundation.
Played a fascinating game of Chicago ‘68 at the Indie Game Showcase. We segmented a game into round by round playthroughs, meaning each round was a completely different set of players! One group would pick up where the other left off, adapting predecessors’ strategies to their own vision for victory
Enjoying a solo game of Chicago 68 by the Dietz Foundation. #chicago68
Definitely! Let’s be in touch. I’d like to one day adapt my first design, Chicago ‘68 for the classroom as well.
On the topic of religious formations, check out @gregisonthego.bsky.social’s Keep the Faith spacebiff.com/2026/01/13/k...
Yup! This is in the works. I think some adjustments would have to be made to accommodate a classroom of teenagers, but it’s possible!

Penitent by @danbullock.bsky.social is full of difficult questions and few answers, tackling the prison reforms of the early 19th century and their consequences. In many ways it's a troublesome game, but those same details make it a worthwhile dissection. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/03/05/p...
Mollie wrote an excellent piece. I encourage other historical designers to check it out. Particularly, those of us that tackle challenging topics.

For the record, I am for the uselessness and negative productivity of poetry.
Poets most of all. Dionne Brand: “Poetry is not even information”
The Slicks by Maggie Nelson. It’s a recent essay book on Sylvia Plath and Taylor Swift. Borrows heavily from Anne Carson’s Gender of Sound, which of course is the more interesting text…
Wicked burn.
Final EVER?
Played Meltwater by @a-cute-nausea.bsky.social (with the @hollandspiele.bsky.social rules ofc, I own both copies and enjoy the mix). Two armies fighting to the bitter end, pressganging and force marching until all that was left was a tiny radiated ice glacier …
I've had the pleasure of playtesting Taylor's game 3 times the last few years. So excited for this to be published and for people to engage with the challenge of car-free transit.
Get on it:
Actually, I want to quote this again, because I think some of us are making the misstep of allowing this conversation to proceed on Dancey's terms.
He insists he was only talking about *ideas*, not finished products. What goofballs we are! Except...
This is definitely one of those games where the host sets up before the guests arrive and is provided with pizza as tribute.
Tbh, there’s a fantastic game under that O’toolean avalanche. The flow is fairly straightforward: play a “focus” card and pick two out of the three actions to resolve. You can typically program your entire card sequence if you’re not playing one of the more competitive scenarios.
Last night we proved the rule… (Voidfall)
Just fucking play Rebellion guys
Looking good! Let me know if you ever need another play tester
Ooh. What’s the historical context?
I love it… even though my Pacifist has a tendency to explode
Played my first few games of Lucky Seven, thanks to your recommendation. Feeling ready to mix in the Depot!
