My brother in law was playing an R&B cover of Take Me Higher by Creed on his phone. I kept thinking how soulless and weird it felt, why did they produce that way, it was like slimey and gross, sterile and mid. I asked who did the cover and he told me was and he told me it was AI generated 😅

I've had dreams while working in Logic Pro and more recently Reaper. ... But never Pro Tools.
I think it's because Pro Tools doesn't feel intuitively "creative" the same way Logic's ease of use is and Reaper's endless customization does. Maybe if I did more video post work...?
had a dream the other night I could make swooshes with my hands by crafting the waveform in a 3d daw. And when the sound played the waveform shape went away from me in physical space, instead of horizontally on a screen.

Working on sound packs is crazy cus you cant rely on the idea u will make srs $. But u absolutely must create 110% quality work. its a balance to be sure tht game+video ppl will be happy to buy ur assets, but also stuff sound designers can use and (hopefully) respect. & also not spend 100 yrs making
Throwback to when an audio series wanted one of their segments to "sound like it was recorded on a modern handheld recorder".
I hadn't used the h5 in a long time but the loud noise floor came in handy here..
My good friend has released a sound pack filled with super tight and rich whooshes, swooshes, passbys, and super slick designs. It is super high quality and I've been using it quite a lot.

I went to a showing for a short I did music+sfx+audio post for, & most ppl came up to tell me that the audio elevated the film so much. DP said he pushed to "get someone to do good audio" It felt very good to be recognized but it felt even better to hear others understanding the value of good sound
Sound design is crazy. So crazy tht I show people a snare sound on Koala of me going "kkggrrrtt" at the bar and they are interested enough to learn what it actually is.
