I keep thinking about how a lot of our discussions of aspirational young people and the various woes they face, struggling to save for a deposit, whether to have kids, saving rates, do then loop back to the fact we've set up our tax system to be more expensive in the years they would do those things
Sorry, it's a ridiculous system that a 30 year old earning £40k has a 37% marginal rate, which drops to 28% when they hit 50 and 20% when they hit 67! That's not the way around that having money works!
