i think it's basically impossible to price in $150 oil happening in a straight line. it's like being a little bit pregnant. things are either OK/manageable or they're not
wild card is oil goes to $150 for any reason, quickly, and doesn't immediately come back down again.
i keep asking investors about this and they're like 'i dunno, i'm not a geopolitical expert' and i'm like 'yeahhh they don't know either'
My rough timeline:
If the Strait reopens in the coming week, we have weeks of energy market disruption ahead but things have settled by the Autumn.
If the Strait is closed for another 3/4 weeks we have months of disruption.
If the Strait is closed for longer things get very bad, very quickly.
