For newer users of BlueSky, please alt-text your images. It helps people who use screen-readers or who have slow internet connections understand the image you've uploaded. Make the web accessible.
I rarely reshare images without alt-text & I know others do the same. Alt-text your images for reach
The Trump Action Tracker is a British academicβs answer to Trump βflooding the zoneβ with anti-democratic and anti- rule of law behaviours.
Itβs a one-stop-shop for logging thd lot. And the neta-analysis of what is happening is very enlighteningβ¦ darkly.

Tough crowd.
Oh, you haven't seen anything yet. Go to the website on her T-shirt.

That's them "getting political"
If I failed that often, I would be fired.
Uh oh.
I think what made Abrego Gracia different was that his wife identified him in a photo of the prisoners. Also, Garcia had a court case years ago where a judge explicitly ruled he should not be removed from the US. What DHS did violated that court ruling.
I just don't like how trans people are getting bullied and oppressed by powerful people for no good reason. Trans people haven't done anything besides try to live their lives. Human rights are for *all* humans, regardless of gender.
I wonder if OpenAI or the other tech companies will eventually try to get a bailout from the government when the shit hits the fan. π¬
What did I just read? Is that a bot?
She says this on the platform that enriches Elon Musk when you use it. Does she have an account here? Anyway, I don't see a problem with going with the Democrat party takeover/reform route. It's an uphill battle whether you go the 3rd party route or Dem takeover route.
Why does she keep posting over at the place filled with Nazis? Does she at least have an account here. The purity testing can go both ways.
Thanks for the information you've been posting about alt text. I've learned a lot about what makes good alt text since coming to Bluesky from advocates like you. Accessibility has been something I've been thinking more about as a web dev.
Nice! I gave it a star on GitHub.

Does that include replies?
I think I will begin to block people who in the alt text for a text screenshot just put the word "text," and in the alt text for a regular image just put "image." Useless to visually impaired people, and shitty practice to deceive those who don't repost images without alt text.
It's nice that people are just now noticing terrible alt text but I promise you, it's not a new phenomenon.
There's a reason I've been putting so much effort into explaining how to do it properly and pushing back on "any alt text is better than none" on here for *checks notes* two years.
βWhatβs the Democratβs Project 2025?β
If youβre tired of hearing *crickets* from our electeds, might I suggestβ¦

Bluesky accessibility request yall:
PLEASE ALT TEXT your photos, screenshots, attachments, etc.
Once you start doing it, it'll become second nature, and you'll notice more if you don't.
Exception to Alt text is if you're posting a whole thread that gives the text of the attachment.
So straightforward, so good. An ALT text decision tree.

As a fellow leftist, I agree.
Do better, people!
Who are the 4% of devs who don't rely on #OpenSource?
We used to call them blogs.
Up top, the title "BASIC COMPUTER ELEMENTS: comparision between manual composition..." The top half illustrates manual composition: a whistling man carries loose paper marked 'incoming problem' to a desk, and leaves it at a 'Notebook'; the operator, with a 'Desk Calculating Machine' to his left, works with pen and paper; the man leaves, printed folios of answers in hand. Below a horizontal rule, page bottom, the title continues: "...and Whirlwind I Computation." An arrow pointing in states "problems to be done," leading to a box labeled Input Devices; Input Devices points to a broad system bus line. Next is Storage, which reads from and writes to the system bus. Next is Control; control reads from the system bus, and writes to all boxes in this diagram. Next is Arithmetic Element; it reads from and writes to the system bus. Last is Output Devices; it reads from the system bus and writes out "Results in Desired Form."
Well, this is a curious artifact - this image was used to explain what a digital computer was to people who were used to human computers. (Source.)
