And old tweet of mine from 4 years ago

Instead of Zitelli, peds residents get to do a month in a Florida hospital. They'll learn how to recognize the white pseudomembrane of diphtheria, lockjaw, and the 3 C's of measles.

Right idea but I was off by 2 states.

The White House yesterday pulled a very 1984 move by rewriting the history of January 6th. Here’s what actually happened, and how it’s affected one of the officers who was there.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

We can prevent most liver and cervical cancer with a simple vaccine, but nah, let's let people die horribly at extreme expense instead.
It's moral failure

Hepatitis B infection in infancy (almost half of all HepB is caught in childhood) is associated with a 90% chance of becoming a chronic infection (ie the body can never clear the virus), and is highly likely to progress to liver failure and liver cancer.

Vaccinating at birth has reduced this by 99%

This should alarm everyone.

On Thursday, Florida, by unanimous vote, became the first state in the country to adopt “The Phoenix Declaration: An American Vision for Education.”
It was written by the Heritage Foundation, the same group behind Project 2025.

Over the past week, the president said the DOJ should pay him a quarter billion dollars, bulldozed half the White House to build himself a gaudy ballroom, bragged about murdering civilians in international waters, pardoned some more criminals, directed federal prosecutors to indict his opponents ...

Man, 93, reunites with lost dog after rescuers lure her with his socks “She wanted to get back to him; she just didn’t know how,” rescue volunteer Jennifer Justice said.

Sunny, a yellow lab belonging to a 93-year-old man, went missing in a nature preserve in Los Angeles.

To get her back, volunteers filled traps with food they knew Sunny couldn’t resist: homemade meatballs, kielbasa and rotisserie chicken.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
