I think it rocks that a meaningful portion of the population believes in "rapid clones" I think that shit is good for us probably

You couldn't pay me to read that article about how all the evil people make way more than anyone who does real stuff
plus to my knowledge we have yet to see any meaningful proof that trans inclusivity actually effects fairness in sports!! Just a lot of fourth runners up trying to make names for themselves as right wing influencers!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, even if the panic around trans people in sports were founded on anything other than right wing dog whistles, muddying the waters of "fairness" in sports is absolutely worth preventing a meaningful amount of human misery and death!!
Thank you! Iβm very excited
News about a new Dan Sheehan book is some of the best news one can receive
Huge news!!! There is truly no better person to write about this subject matter than Dan, and I can't wait to see how he channels his deep passion, personal experiences, and perspective on the world into this new book!!! What a treat for us readers!!
I intend to learn all of the forbidden Smell Knowledge
Extremely nice to get to do something that I know would've made my six year old self go all wide eyed.
Some news: Iβm writing a book about zoos and modern humanity's precarious place in nature!
As a lifelong Zoo Guy and animal obsessive, I feel very lucky to have this opportunity. It's still very much a work in progress, but I think you'll really enjoy it when the time comes.
worst day of the year. hour stolen from night time given to the smug idiot breakfast eaters. the rise and shine clowns
Iβm watching drivers groan as they have to wait for ten pedestrians to clear a crosswalk, just general muppet movie antagonist behavior
The thing about car culture is that I canβt abide an ideology that pits you against people reveling in the first warm days of spring.
Do kids still have a Flogging Molly phase or do they just listen to Flogging IPHONE? Like and subscribe for more memes about being 35-44 years old!!!!
Like this is an unjust, illegal war and I'm ashamed of what we've done. I also don't want us to get bombed!! I don't want any more people to get bombed!!!
I think people assume it makes them seem intelligent, like only they understand the awful things our country has done and only they know the price we must pay, but it just sort of underlines their place as a person in the imperial core who doesn't understand the realities/horrors of war
I think it's fine to hope that the idiots in charge are humbled in some way but the minute I see somebody posturing as though they hope there's some sort of attack on American soil, they become an eighth grader wearing an anarchy tee shirt to me
Getting really flustered during battle because my sword makes a flirty little "ooh!" sound instead of a "clang" every time it hits another sword.
By some miracle, the god of wonder and surprise has distracted or otherwise bartered with the god of cold efficiency and profit, and--for a little while longer, anyway--this card game opens onto worlds that are more alive than they need to be. Magicβs worldbuilding is, in other words, deeply gratuitous--not in the sense of too much, but in its etymological root: gratis, freely given. If we want to keep savoring this free gift, then we have to make use of it for ourselves--not depend entirely on what Wizards of the Coast does with its worlds. As Lopez remarked to me, the goal of worldbuilding is always βto build something that becomes the property of players,β to βBuild a world whose parts that are seen are parts that thrill, that hook, that pull and invite players to wonder what else exists beyond.β This means making use of gratuitous worlds in our own way--in art and storytelling, role-playing and reflection, forms of engagement that let us participate in these worlds rather than merely observe them. Let this be a humble invitation: do something with your favorite Magic world. Live in it, for a little while. Consider where you might take its story, its characters, the structure of its existence. Accept the gift--and make it your own.
really good quote from the article- applies to anything, not just magic. accept the gift and make it your own.
Ryan's been one of my favorite Magic writers since I read his piece about Dominarian stained glass a couple years ago. Just a super insightful guy with a real love for this game. We're super excited to have him writing for @cascadecascade.com
I've been so excited to share this: for CASCADE CASCADE, I interviewed Miguel Lopez, the former WOTC writer and worldbuiler who helped create the Edge (of Eternities), Ixalan, & more.
we discuss the proliferation of tiny, irrelevant, beautiful details in the worlds of Magic. give it a read!
Marketing used to be cool
The Anime Sickos is the only podcast. You might think there are others but there actually aren't
In truth, I was simply fulfilling a vision
Diet Coke and capers
Accidentally painted a pretty bleak picture at the corner store. Didnβt help my cause by meekly saying βI call it Daniel Colaβ
I hate whatever marketing person figured out that I only open emails from real people and started hiding spam from companies behind random names like Ronald Baninus
So apparently Polymarket is letting you bet on the likelihood of a nuclear attack by certain dates. We all must continually bet on the closer dates, lowering their potential payout so that government insiders are less incentivized to pick them
