Well, this is interesting: FCA Cymru is to become a not-for-profit foster care agency, in response to the Welsh Governmentβs drive to outlaw profits from childrenβs social care.

It is such a privilege to be a trustee of the wonderful charity @localwelcome.bsky.social We create community through food welcoming all people seeking sanctuary. Give them a follow and maybe think about supporting a wonderful local meal!
Itβs free at T5. Not sure about other terminals though
"Oh, what a shame you're 'just a children's bookshop."
We hear this all too often.
π Children and teens deserve spaces and shops for them
π Children's and YA books change lives.
It's not a shame we're a children's bookshop. It's a beautiful thing π
Good writing and some insightful coaching questions here. I still think teaching is the best job in the World, I am no longer as sure that it is the most sustainable one.

This needs to be said, loud, and often.
Image of The ICARS Report England cover with an orange spine and bold black text. A prominent hand graphic on the cover is filled with words such as 'trauma,' 'PTSD,' 'flashbacks,' 'fear,' and 'suicide,' symbolizing the impacts of restraint and seclusion. The ICARS and NeuroClastic logos appear at the bottom alongside the website link 'theicarsreport.com' and the hashtag #DyingForAnEducation. Social media handles @icarsbanrands (Twitter) and @againrestraint (Facebook) are displayed in the top right corner.

Some more good news from Phillipson. We all agree ITE mentors require training, 26 hours was too big an ask.
Benign neglect works best. Model it, explain, leave child to keep practising. The practise bit takes longer than you think. Once accomplished, within no time ( in my experience) they take up something terrifying like downhill racing.
Fab, thank you for this Hannah. Absolutely what schools need right now.
Thoughtful and informative blog to help us all get ready for what we do next in order to support and educate young people after this summerβs race riots
Starting back this school year feels much more hopeful than it has for a while. The optimism that we can help change and improve the world around us seems amplified and reflected back. Great to hear inclusion really being talked about again and not a deficit model of behaviours.
Lovely to be here. It feels like the old space used to feel. Great people sharing what matters to them.
I struggle with just cooking!
