FCA Cymru will become not-for-profit service Let’s bust some of the most common myths around about why we’re embracing the new legislation and what this means for FCA Cymru and our incredible community of foster parents.

Well, this is interesting: FCA Cymru is to become a not-for-profit foster care agency, in response to the Welsh Government’s drive to outlaw profits from children’s social care.

"Oh, what a shame you're 'just a children's bookshop."

We hear this all too often.

πŸ“š Children and teens deserve spaces and shops for them

πŸ“š Children's and YA books change lives.

It's not a shame we're a children's bookshop. It's a beautiful thing πŸ’•

Good writing and some insightful coaching questions here. I still think teaching is the best job in the World, I am no longer as sure that it is the most sustainable one.

β€˜Excessive’ ITT mentor training requirement scrapped The government will also launch a new re-accreditation round for ITT providers in spring

Some more good news from Phillipson. We all agree ITE mentors require training, 26 hours was too big an ask.

Benign neglect works best. Model it, explain, leave child to keep practising. The practise bit takes longer than you think. Once accomplished, within no time ( in my experience) they take up something terrifying like downhill racing.

Starting back this school year feels much more hopeful than it has for a while. The optimism that we can help change and improve the world around us seems amplified and reflected back. Great to hear inclusion really being talked about again and not a deficit model of behaviours.
