I’ll also add: not only is a NAS better in every way compared to cloud services, it’s way cheaper. All in between the NAS and 2 8tb drives it is less than a year of the 3tb tier of Dropbox. It’s faster to upload, just as easy to share, and you can do way more with a NAS than just host files.
Compared to previous years it would take months of babysitting uploads because Dropbox and Google Drive throttle uploads of anything over 100gb
It only took me a week to transfer to the nas because I took a few days off after MAGF for dr appts and rest. It could’ve been done in less than 3 days
If anyone transfers large files online regularly you absolutely should consider a NAS! In under a week I was able to transfer and make 8tb of footage shareable to anyone anywhere who has a link. So folks on XP Stage you should be able to get your footage soon.
Figured I’d share the xp stage filming set up. This is a blackmagic pocket 4k with a Fujinon 15-55 with a Shinibi 7 inch monitor. On the monopod arm is a mini micro 5 key keyboard attached to my iPad which was connected to the Mac mini attached to the ATEM so I could film and switch at the same time

I'm really sorry to hear that. I've had my fair share of that too. Maybe seek out a discord community that is more welcoming than reddit. That's much easier said than done though. I do still find the internet is full of amazing kind people, you just need to seek them out 😄
We have the whole internet that existed pre AI and we all seemed capable of researching at that time. Anything else you can't find on your own, turn to people IRL or onlne. I've asked folks on reddit to point me in the right direction many times. Its slower but its reliable (most of the time lol)
From what I understand auto correct and ai are two different entities. Auto correct is scripted by humans, AI is pulling from stolen works and wasting water in the process.
You are also removing a human aspect to research when you look to AI. Another solution can exist I just don't know how.
are much more interesting and close to the themes i want to tell. GPT takes that away, even for research. Don't get me wrong i struggle to research new things especially with my dyslexia, and I believe there should be more accessible options. GPT and AI isn't the solution though.
Beyond all of this I find the process of researching as an important step in making something great. For finding a new method or technique for filmmaking its often that the discoveries of what i wasn't looking for to be what I end up using. For researching for a script I find new threads that-
Early on I tried using GPT in that way to fully understand what it is. I personally haven't used it sense, but what I found was full of hallucinations, or details i could've gotten by just go going to a search engine and typing up whatever obscure topic I was researching.
I see where you're coming from but I still don't agree with using it in that way. Not only is it still still pulling from unethical sources, but it strips away new discoveries you find in the process of research.

Update: the bill is likely to exceed $7000 after everything is accounted for. He will have to be hospitalized for two days at least. I'm on a payment plan for the rest of it but anything helps. Thanks again for signal boosts. He's been a very good boy for all the tests tonight!

Jax is a Trans woman who went missing and was found over a month later discarded and decomposed. The entire community of south denver is so devastated over this tragic act of violence. Of course, the police are mishandling her case and dragging their feet and really don't care about getting justice. It's been horrific watching her mother have to search for the body of her daughter and having to advocate for her not being dead-named by the police. Since she was found it's like the media doesn't really care about what happens next. Please sign the petition and share if you can. Let there be Justice for Jax!

I don’t often post about this because I like to chat with folks irl to have a longer lasting impact on them. However, posting your support online can also make a big impression. So make an attempt to share publicly how you feel. It doesn’t need to be the only thing you post about but anything helps.
Little check in post: I support the protests happening in LA/across the country, ICE/Trump administration is bad, AI is awful and you shouldn’t use it, billionaires are bad, trans rights are human rights, your body your choice.
Go out to local protests if you can and as often as you can.
