Re: contacting your reps: don't overthink your method too much. Just contact. Express your concerns. And do it often. Once a week, if you can.
We need action now. No hesitation because you're worried "what is best" or "how you sound" -- these are things you'll get better at doing so just ACT.
Additional advice!

Wish i saw this earlier but this document gives some useful tips on how to leave effective comments on these!
www.regulations.gov/assets/files...
if you want to help push back against debanking and censorship, you should leave a comment HERE for the Federal Reserve Board's proposal to prohibit banks from denying services based on "reputational risk"
additionally, contact your reps!

The whole point of defending the right for uncomfortable, or even reprehensible fiction to have the right to exist isnt that its all cool and nothing is ever wrong with it
Its that government/corpo organizations will NEVER look at things with the """nuance""" you think is so self evident
I never wanna hear anyone discourse Abt the ethics of furry porn again because face it we are jerking off to an anthropomorphic animal and I honestly don't care because people are gonna lose their jobs to puritanical laws and restrictions holy shit
I know calling reps is very nerve racking. You're not sure what's the right thing to say, and tbh having a script thrown at me makes things just as nerve racking.
I called today, and I figured I'd write up a transcript of how my call went down. Hopefully it helps demystify the process
If you're a bit confused on how to submit, follow this link
www.federalreserve.gov/apps/proposa...
And click "Submit Comment" on the right.
Unfortunately I forgot to save my own comment as an example. Just be courteous and explain how Reputation Risk policies harm you and/or other people around you

A Chain Chomp gal for Mario Day!
The current Canadian government is trying to fast track Bill C-9, "the Combatting Hate Act" through Parliament. This bill is an attempt to squash and silence people's legal right to protest and strike.
Please take a moment to sign this petition opposing C-9.

Yes! You can comment on any thing open for public comment on the federal register or regulations.gov if it affects you, or if you are an interested party, regardless of citizenship or nationality. The only requirement is that they be written in English and concern the topic being discussed.+
Also, in case you're worried about submitting. Here's a handy dandy guide to commenting on regulations and proposals, straight from the government.

Please engage!
Hey, alongside contacting your representatives, this seems like another thing worth putting a bit of your time into and sharing around. If we could get "reputational risk" taken off the table, even in this current climate, that could create a chilling effect on these kinds of policies
You need to call your reps and demand that they OPPOSE:
-the KIDS Act
-KOSA
-the Screen Act
-Sammy's Law
-the App Store Accountability Act
And additionally, oppose:
-reforming/sunsetting Section 230
-online age verification/ID laws

One day I'll be able to simply not rebleat some dire fuckin' shit and all of my feed will just be cool art and funny videos and fat fuckin' asscheeks and not
~ALL OF THIS~
And you need to call yer representatives to complain directly TO THEM that I cannot yet do that.
Like I've been callin' at least one person five days a week and blastin' out emails daily since this whole Collective Shout censorship shit kicked off, and I DESPISE DOING BOTH. If I can commit to this, so can y'all.
Getting to feel hopeless w/ all the news and seeing so many ppl on here talking about 'what's the point of calling' and 'well everyone else is calling so *I* don't have to call' whenever this stuff happens.
Please take it seriously. Call paypros. Call your reps. We need help NOW.
Bully PayPal and Stripe but I still think VISA and Mastercard are better targets: as well as asking your reps to start thinking about laws that protect porn from being debanked.
Again, porn is still legal but they're very quickly making it impossible to access, which makes it essentially illegal.
The "no furries with humans" rule is consistently one that sites have been forced to implement and that's how you know it's from payment processor pressure.
It isn't a coincidence that these TOS changes all look very similar. It's because it's the same few companies making these sites do it.
This is the "let's find a Discord alternative" problem all over again... at the end of the day all the alternatives have to adhere to ID verification laws or paypros nonsense. I guess fanbox is an alternative but I'm honestly giving myself a day to figure this out for myself
These are some of the biggest SubscribeStar content changes to pay attention to. And yes, this is explicitly due to payment processors
subscribestar.adult/prohibited_c...
Even folks who create fictional content you may find reprehensible havent done a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the harm a paypro CEO or the average politician/world leader has
Its not fucking fair man
What makes me so fucking mad is
I never hurt anyone. The vast, overwhelming majority of nsfw creators and sex workers dont.
We get cut off from the ability to use-the-dollar but all the sick fucks that hurt people, both directly and indirectly, every single day, never get even a slap on the wrist
