Best I can say for it is that it is very meme-able, and that's probably why it popped off so hard.

What I'm trying to say is for the garbage "reading reddit" stuff, I'm willing to bet it's just "your viewers tend to let youtube autoplay stuff and walk away from the screen" because that's what it always tends to autoplay into for me even though I don't really watch it.

Part of the problem is Youtube Shorts on mobile. The content I watch on desktop is VERY different from what gets thrown at me when scrolling shorts, and I suspect that even if I scroll past slop, Youtube still considers it "watched" if I don't skip it fast enough.

The more I learn about the game the more I agree with this.

The funniest thing about the name is that Ed obviously knows it's bad -- I saw a post floating around where he was like "obviously eugenics is horrifying and bad and I don't support it, but the pun was too good to pass up" and in a way I at least respect the commitment to the bit.

they're supposed to represent the value for "adult AFAB woman" but trans people are effectively going through puberty, and the numbers even for AFAB girls in puberty are going to be all over the place, sometimes very high. As long as the value isn't staying like that for extended periods, it's fine.
