A gold winged trophy from the International Excellence Awards 2025 stands on a black base. Next to it is its black presentation box with the award logo in gold. In front, there is a Truper instruction manual for a bench drill press, showing a technical illustration. Everything rests on top of an orange Truper catalog filled with line-art tool drawings. The scene represents the project by GyGinfographics that won the Gold award: the design of technical manuals and visual systems for Truper.
Finally unboxed my trophy from the International Excellence Awards 2025 by Design Skill Magazine. My project for Truper won Gold in Educational and Training Material Design. A small object, but a huge reminder of why clear technical communication matters. ๐๐

Side by side, either one could be your favorite.
But sometimes, choosing between them isnโt just about taste. It also comes down to factors like scale, system performance, or your workflow.
What do you think? Is the one you picked still your favorite?
Both chairs are vector illustrations following isometric guidelines. But one is more figurative, while the other leans toward abstraction.
That means there's a difference in the number of vector shapes each one is made of, which directly affects how much computing power is needed to process them.
Comparison between two chairs created in Adobe Illustrator following isometric guidelines and using basic tools. Created by GyGinfographics.
Chair VS Chair
A few days ago, I wrapped up two projects for different clientsโboth included office chairs in the illustrations.
And since we love a good comparison here on social media, I thought Iโd ask: Which one do you think is better?
Spoiler: it depends.
Animated GIF showing different versions of a vector technical illustration of the 1994 Iomega Zip Drive: full color, one-ink (black and white) for packaging, and one-ink for instruction manuals and technical documentation. Developed in Adobe Illustrator using isometric projection and basic tools. Created by GyGinfographics.
I'm pretty sure that, in a parallel reality, GyGinfographics was in charge of redesigning all the graphics in the Iomega Zip Drive user manual back in 1994.

The cover spread from a one page zine printout. The left (back cover) features images of a scale and gavel, with notes on First Amendment and filming rights, and the advice to โshut the fuck up.โ On the right is the cover, a megaphone with the title text โPROTEST SAFELY.โ Behind it are faceless protestors. The subtitle notes, โA brief collection of tips from around the internet.โ
A spread from one page zine printout. On the left is an illustration of a protestor with the title โWhat to Wear,โ including a helmet, goggles, ear plugs, gloves, a mask, a backpack, and layers/long sleeves/pants. Each have additional notes explaining their use. On the right is โWhat to Bring,โ featuring illustrations of a backpack, money, water bottles, a mask, a granola bar and bag of trail mix, a first aid kit, folded shirt and pants, and an ID, with โDIY Defenseโ listed underneath it showing one protestor using a luggage case, one holding a trash can lid, and one using an open umbrella as a shield.
A spread from one page zine printout. On the left is โProtect Your Identity,โ advising to cover up identifying features, avoiding photography of protesters, deactivating biometric phone-unlocking tools, and writing emergency contact and counsel numbers on your arm. On the right is โBe Like Water,โ the motto of the 2019 Hong Kong protests, and the text โBEWARE THE BAITโ with images of a palette of bricks and a masked man holding a crowbar toward a protestor with a sign, โPsst, free crowbar?โ encouraging the reader not to engage with traps and undercover agents.
A spread from one page zine printout featuring the hazards of protest opposition, including tear gas, rubber bullets, and LRAD sound cannons and flash bangs. Caution tape images accompany the text explaining the dangers of each, how to flush out eyes that have been maced/etc, and how to extinguish a gas canister with a traffic cone.
I did my best to compile as many protest safety notes as possible into a one page foldout zine! Coincidentallyโฆit seems the file has breached containmentโฆlike itโs available for anyone to print or hand out ๐โ๏ธ
