Are you telling me that the President of El Salvador can fly to DC to meet with Trump, but the Trump administration can't get him to return a mistakenly deported Maryland man, Kilmar Armanda Abrego Garcia, to the US?
This is an insult to our intelligence and an act of contempt against the judge.
In short, today's two filings are a defiant "screw you" to Judge Xinis and to Mr. Abrego. They say they can't "facilitate" anything because he's in Bukele's custody, they threaten to appeal any order she makes requiring them to take further steps, and they refuse to tell her anything.
So he was taken in error but it was the right decision to take him. He is not a gang member but he is a gang member so we don’t want to get him back but even if we did want to get him back, we can’t even though trump is the best deal-maker on Earth, even he can’t make that deal, but now he’s MS13.

Marco Rubio just announced 10 more people were sent to be imprisoned in CECOT. They were flown there from Gitmo to be imprisoned potentially for life based not on any crime for which they were convicted, but on unproven allegations of gang membership with no due process.

Finally, the Court should not issue an order to show cause. Plaintiffs began their motion with a quote from the President confirming his respect for the Supreme Court and intention to comply with its order. ECF 62 at. 1. Defendants remain in compliance with the Supreme Court's order. Based on the Supreme Court's Order and respect for both the Executive Branch's authority over foreign affairs and the sovereignty of El Salvador, the Court should take no further action in response to Plaintiffs' motion.
Finally, and in one of the most obnoxious things I've seen in some time: DOJ — in addressing whether it should be ordered to show cause why it should not be held in contempt for failure to comply with Xinis's orders — does not address Xinis's orders at all, simply referencing the SCOTUS order.
Commentary: President Trump and his billionaire allies are slashing lifesaving programs, from HIV research funding to addiction treatment and mental health programs. These actions are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ and Easter.
