Campus ocupations had the specific objectives of divesting the collegues endownents from israeli stocks and ending exchange programs with it too, and they were extremely succesfull at that. Now those same people are more corcerned with ICE because protests with inmediate effects matter more to them
That cant be it, graduates lead them, sophomores learn from them and the pipeline keeps going on. Campus protests are as old as universities
So in radicalism it isnt mirrored but in crazyness it is
Mostly because comunists are notoriously loud about it while neonazis are deeply shamefull at their core

If you stop caring about all that Marty Mauser is an amazing character for the plot. He is so driven and sleazy those two forces within him are at constant odds and generate inherent conflict, everything he does gets him both closer and further from his goals
I think this sentiment comes from a desire of punishment and the ending not being tragic enough, a feeling that people like Mauser ever being happy is an afront to the karmic justice you want the world to follow and get pissed when movies dont reflect that.
So what?
Im not a fucking 5th century BC greek peasant going to see a morality play to be taught whats good and bad, I can tell very easilly so I go to the movies to be entertained and get things to think about and this movie was very entertaining and thought provoking to me
I was rooting for the japanese guy ngl but it was a fast, spectacular (in the literal sence) and tense movie and that very quick plot couldnt work with a character that isnt making all the worst mistakes all the time. I liked it for how dramatic its plot wise and I dont really care he sucks
