The Grotesques of Tisbury - Weird Wiltshire Strange stone faced grotesques stare down from the walls of some Tisbury dwellings. Who were these characters? I had to find out for you!

Small Bluesky world! The aardvark was on Hindon Road in Tisbury! Shaftesbury is my nearest town. Have a look out for the stone faces in Tisbury when you drive through (and on the stone arch on the way through Fonthill Park). I wrote about them here: 😀

I had ex-battery hens - you can rescue them here before they go for slaughter. Poor girls were always in a state but they had a good life with us and in return we had a nice supply of fresh eggs. I'm having a hen keeping break at the moment after 15 years - too many other projects to deal with!

😂 She also needed me to not have chickens but of course I refused (and also refused to lay traps for the rats because a) I’m an animal lover and b) to annoy her! I’m a terrible and wicked neighbour! 😂

Rats are a problem too! 🐀 My neighbour (who has a thatch) used to complain bitterly about my chickens as it was encouraging rats that lived in her roof, keeping her awake at night! Since she is bossy and annoying I actually figured this was a bonus of my chicken keeping days. 😂

Me too!! Although thatched roofs are a big fat pain the arse so I wouldn’t actually want this house!

Shaftesbury in North Dorset! We’ve a fair few thatches round here with creations on the roofs. There was an aardvark on one until he went mouldy and rotted away! 😂
