This isn’t a knock on RE9 or anything. The game is great overall and playing as Leon in Raccoon City was really cool. I’m more saying that I generally prefer the horror element of Resident Evil, and it’s what got me into it. I prefer 2 Remake, 7 and 8 over 9; and 9 over 4 Remake because of this
What I found ironic when playing RE Requiem is despite Raccoon City returning being a big part of the appeal, it was the Care Center that I enjoyed more. It was the scariest and had the zombies with different personalities. A part of me wishes the whole game was just the Care Center with Grace
I think Rhythm’s Heaven’s release date would’ve been announced by now if it was May. I’m thinking it’ll more so be a summer release in either June or July, coinciding with one of the already announced Switch 2 exclusives in the same month
Now with FE Fortune's Weave in 2026 and Pokemon Winds & Waves in 2027; FFVII Remake 3, Xenoblade 4, Persona 6, and Tales 18 will hopefully be within 2027-2028, and they'd go like this:
- 2026: FE Fortune's Weave
- 2027: Pokemon WW, Xenoblade 4 & Tales 18
- 2028: FFVII Remake 3 & Persona 6
I remember in 2022 or 2023, I was hoping that with the JRPG series I was into, Persona 6 would be 2024 and Tales 18 in 2025. So from 2021-2025 it would go

- 2024: FFVII Rebirth & Persona 6
- 2025: Tales 15

My Resident Evil collection. I have every modern game outside of RE3 Remake. I genuinely consider Resident Evil to be one of the best and most consistently great AAA series right now. Almost every release has been great and the momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down

A new 3D or 2D Zelda could happen in 2027 after the Zelda Movie, but I’m leaning more towards some other Zelda release since Zelda is annual. Maybe a remake or spin-off as something more major after the movie
I’m predicting each Nintendo (or at least each Mario universe) film will have a new mainline game later that year or early the year after the movie
- 2023: Mario Bros Movie -> Mario Wonder
- 2026: Mario Galaxy Movie -> 3D Mario
- 2028: DK Movie -> 2D DK
- 2030: Mario Movie 3 -> 2D (if MM3 is then)

I’d say good representation is having a good story and characterization alongside it, because it shows care for the characters themselves. I’d argue a lot of the push against representation has been because a lot of companies wrote bad story and characters alongside the representation

#ResidentEvil Requiem
It’s really been 5 years since my dream came true of a XC2 rep getting into Smash. It might not’ve been Rex & Pyra with the driver & blade mechanic like I was hoping, but I’m glad they got Aegis in before Smash Ultimate’s DLC ended and Xenoblade 3 released. I was worried XC2 would get skipped over
It's been alright. Been playing RE Requiem which has been pretty solid
Idk about it being revealed this year since Nintendo doesn't really reveal games 2 years or more ahead of time anymore, but I could definitely see it being revealed next year, and each Nintendo Direct afterword could reveal at least 1 newcomer, sort of like how Smash 4's newcomers were revealed
Though if Smash 6 did start development without Sakurai, possibly by the Nintendo Namco team that had listings for a 2D game back in late 2023, then 2026 or 2027 could be when Smash 6 releases. We'll at the very least see whether Smash 6 is this year or not in 1-3 months
Alongside a bunch of other games releasing before Holiday 2028. It's also possible that Smash Ultimate could get a Switch 2 Edition with new fighters and modes this year to sort of tide us over if they really do want Smash early on in some way while still having Sakurai direct Smash 6.
I was thinking the same, but if Nintendo is still relying on Sakurai to direct Smash Bros and with most of his focus being on Kirby Air Riders after Smash UItimate's DLC ended, 2028 would be the earliest it could happen. Nintendo might feel 3D Mario this year and Pokemon next year could be enough
I forgot to mention Mario Party. That's either 2027 or 2028. 2027 seems the most obvious with Mario Party games releasing every 3 years since 9, but with the Jamboree Switch 2 expansion, it does make me wonder if the next new Mario Party is being pushed back to 2028
Man, it feels crazy predicting games for the late 2020s and even 2030 with some. But this year is 2026 and 2027-2030 aren't that far away
Kirby is likely 2027. In regard to the big selling 2D series, 2D DK could be 2028 when the DK Movie releases, 2D Mario in 2030 when Mario Movie 3 could release, and 2D Zelda either 2027 or 2030, with maybe a 2D remake in 2026 or 2027 if it's 2030. Mario Maker 3 could be 2027 or 2028
I believe with Nintendo's biggest series, the release years would be this:
- 2026: 3D Mario
- 2027: Winds & Waves (confirmed)
- 2028: Smash 6
- 2029: 3D Zelda
Luigi's Mansion 4 I believe is either 2026 or 2027. Between Animal Crossing 6 and Splatoon 4, one of them could be 2028 and the other 2030
I do think a lot of that has to do with people wanting these Pokemon in because of the Pokemon, and this are highly speculated because of their fan demand (especially since Smash 6 would’ve likely started development after SV released), so it’s not really the same as with Meowscarada
I do think it was a good idea to reveal Pack 6 would be an Arms character prior to Min Min’s reveal. She had a more positive reception compared to the other Nintendo DLC and even some of the 3rd parties in some parts of the community because of this
It’d be nice if there a more clear structure with each pass. They’d let us know which packs are 1st party, which are 3rd, which are veterans, and how much for each type. It helps manage expectations rather than another Byleth where everyone expected a big 3rd party to end only to be another FE rep
