The system is unsustainable in so many ways! The number of publications is overwhelming, reviewers and editors are hard to find, and the pressure to keep up with everything translates into chronic overwork...We are doing more science, but are we doing better science?

In this article, just out, I argue that scientists have a crucial role in the science-policy interface: keep making questions, especially those whose answers decision-makers don't know they want to know, or know they do not want to know.

🌱 Fieldwork update from Isla Victoria (Argentina):
We returned to resample vegetation in long-term exclosure plots originally established by @agostinatorres.bsky.social after the removal of pine plantations. These plots allow us to track secondary invasions dynamics and potential community.
Despite having outstanding scientists like Sandra, our scientific system is being defunded and is in deep crisis under the current government. #CONICET #Argentina
