10 days between runs.
Heightened, persistent anxiety.
Wicked-bad Imposter Syndrome and unbridled ADHD.
One 3-mile run in the sun later, and I can already feel myself regulating again.
32/100 miles
HOLY SHIT.
This dialogue would fit perfectly in “Team America”.
Each day I marvel anew at how stupid the downfall of the Empire is turning out to be.
This of course is not illegal. No rules against it. The only thing that prevents news orgs from doing this all the time is self-imposed and rigorously enforced standards of accuracy.
So support, read and pay for journalism that does that.
A few good words for this weekend.
Had to squeeze in a short mile. As much as I love Bob’s Burgers, I learned it’s not a “jogging show”.
29/100 miles
Still not a fan of the treadmill, but Alex Garland’s CIVIL WAR was so sensational, I ran for over an hour.
Also, if you haven’t seen CIVIL WAR, it’s a must see. (It’s overwhelming and too close to reality, but important nonetheless.)
28/100 miles
Again, I know it feels good to send a donation to someone who is finally going to send Mitch McConnell or Lindsey Graham packing, but you're going to see a *lot* more bang for your buck with less exciting but much more meaningful state legislative races.
This is a great way to do that:
It’s been a rough week, so it’s been a while since my last run.
Snow forced me to the treadmill, and it was made all the worse by trying “Land of the Lost”. 0/10, do not recommend.
22/100 miles.
First run on the Mopac in years 💚
20/100 miles
So uh Ring just up and said they've got a huge centralized private surveillance network they can leverage all at once huh
✅ Sunny outdoor run
✅ Longest distance in years
✅ Enjoyed the process
14/100 miles
I hate treadmill runs.
I love watching Pedro Pascal & horror with Georgie.
We’ll call this a wash.
8/100 miles
Treadmill run while I introduce the boys to another ‘90s classic: Independence Day 👽
In Summer 2020, I set a goal to run until I reached 100 miles.
That led to a 10k, a few Halfsies, and a full marathon.
Now, I think I’m quite ready for another adventure.
3/100
(Also, abolish ICE, release the Epstein Files, & we aren’t going to rest until these monsters are brought to justice.)
BREAKING: Immigration officers are asserting sweeping power to enter homes without a judge’s warrant, a memo obtained by AP says.
Corruption beyond compare.

semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003
when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out
What in the Gestapo is going on in Grand Rapids?
Watch this activist get arrested *mid-interview* for speaking out against U.S. action in Venezuela.
Eyes wide open, folks. They're revealing the supervillain plot.
forget the long arc of history bending towards justice, I need the rube goldberg machine of inexorable consequence to endgame the kind of profoundly ironic yet blackly hilarious karmic downfall that would’ve had ancient greek theatergoers hollering at the chorus
Not only does this intentionally violate the First Amendment to the US Constitution, it’s vile to watch mean-spirited, selfish ghouls who starve the poor and kidnap people for their skin color sanctimoniously pretending they follow any of the teachings of Jesus.
Right, this line Vance used was a very common line used by segregationists.
Here's Rep. Mendel Rivers (D-SC) reacting to the Brown decision, which he said "would bring mongrelization of the Caucasian race. He added that he for one won't apologize for being a white man."
One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.
Today’s xkcd made me cry.
In a good way.

Some of y’all are really telling on yourselves by making jokes about a dude potentially having given another dude a blow job.
Who cares? That would be the least offensive thing he’s ever done.
First show of the ultra-delayed anniversary: Oh, Mary!
Instant classic. Spectacularly written and performed.
wrote about the shifting attitude towards organized religion in horror movies for RNS and why, for many people, a priest is now the last person they'd call if something spooky went down. religionnews.com/2023/09/20/f...
Guillermo del Toro quote "...think about wealth for me for example. A wealthy man that has enough..."
"not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite somebody to beer..."
"...you're rich. If you have, whatever-"
"- yachts and planes and islands and you STILL need more? You're not rich."
Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."
