….As long as they have really good character work. Because Samurai champloo doesn’t really have a story you do have to rely heavily on your characters to keep you coming back. If the main trio ain’t got chemistry? I fear no amount of good vibes + hijinks could make me care.

Like, honestly out of a lot of adaptations I feel like champloo is in a really good place for a live action adaptation. Cuz the story isn’t really nailed down beyond they’re looking for the samurai that smells like sunflowers. They could write entirely new scenarios [gets really close to the mic]….
