Lawyer: You don't regret that people might have lost income?

Cavanaugh (DOGE): No, I think it was more important to reduce the federal deficit from two trillion dollars to close to zero.

Lawyer: Did you reduce the federal deficit?

Cavanaugh: No, we didn't.

MAGAts were hatched in Dick Cheney's basement lab. Then sent to Fox "News" facilities for stupidification. Then finally to the lab on Epstein Island to get the pedo gene installed. Then they're ready to walk among us and share their views about wanting to live on the wrong side of history.

Dear Senator Warren, (and then to your local Rep)
I am writing to urge you to ensure that the growing consolidation of mental health care by venture capital and private equity firms is addressed within the Break Up Big Medicine Act and the Patients Before Monopolies Act.
Across the United States, venture capital backed companies are rapidly buying, consolidating, or building large corporate networks of mental health providers. Companies such as Headway, BetterHelp, Grow Therapy, Rula, and Alma present themselves as innovative technology platforms, but in practice they function as large corporate intermediaries between therapists and patients. Their business models are designed to extract revenue from mental health care rather than strengthen the clinical systems that patients rely on.
Independent therapy practices are increasingly being absorbed into venture funded networks that prioritize rapid growth and investor returns. Therapists are frequently paid a fraction of the reimbursement that insurers provide for mental health services, while the corporate platform takes a substantial share. This creates unsustainable working conditions for clinicians and encourages high volume scheduling that undermines the quality of care.
The consequences are directly felt by patients. When venture backed companies dominate local markets, clinicians experience burnout and high turnover, continuity of care suffers, and patients are often pushed through rushed appointments designed to maximize billing rather than provide meaningful treatment. Mental health care relies on stability, trust, and long term therapeutic relationships. These conditions are incompatible with models built around aggressive scaling and profit extraction.

The mental health workforce is already fragile and severely understaffed. Allowing venture capital consolidation to reshape the field risks permanently weakening access to independent, community based care. Once local practices disappear and markets become concentrated under a handful of corporate platforms, both clinicians and patients lose meaningful choice.
Including mental health services within the scope of the Break Up Big Medicine Act and the Patients Before Monopolies Act would help address this growing threat before it becomes entrenched. Increased scrutiny of ownership structures, stronger oversight of consolidation among health care providers, and protections for independent practices would help ensure that mental health treatment remains centered on patients rather than investors.
Mental health care should not become another sector dominated by financial engineering. Patients deserve systems built around care, not venture capital growth strategies.

They didn't expect this. Even after watching Ukraine beat hades out of putin & his assorted 'army' from N. Korea to Africa. They egotistically thought a bigger, 'badder' armed force could destroy the 'smaller' force. They don't know history b/c they don't read or think, just act/react.

Dems score upset win in New Hampshire special election, giving GOP fresh reason to worry The more Democrats win closely watched races, the more Republicans should be concerned about the 2026 midterms.

Dems just scored an upset win in a New Hampshire special election:

Democrat Bobbi Boudman won the special election for Carroll County District 7, defeating Republican Dale Fincher 51-47% in a district that voted Republican by more than 13 points just 16 months ago.

BREAKING: As many as 150 U.S. troops have been wounded in the war with Iran, according to sources familiarโ€”far higher than the Pentagonโ€™s publicly disclosed figure of just 8 seriously wounded troops. The true toll of this war is already far worse than the public has been told. (Reuters)

This was my second visit to the ICE facility in Baltimore. Each time, it made the hair stand up on my arms.

The conditions are inhumane, and the treatment of people is unacceptable.

Instead of lowering gas prices, this Administration chooses to spend its time on this CRUELTY.

Alabama Governor Spares Life Of 75-Year-Old Who Never Killed Anyone Had the execution gone forward, Burton would have faced a harsher punishment than the man who killed the victim during a botched robbery that Burton participated in.

KENNEDY: You said, 'Republicans think can troll their way to ethnic cleansing.' Did I read that correctly?

BIER: DHS tweeted for 100m deportations. That would be ethnic cleansing!

K: You don't think it's hyperbolic?

B: I think advocating 100m deportations is ethnic cleansing. Yes. Your time is up

If youโ€™re roughly my age, itโ€™s wild to reflect on the optimism for the future Americans felt when Obama was elected โ€” young Americans spontaneously took to the streets to celebrate! โ€” and contrast with what we face today. The falloff over the past 18 years is hard to process.

What the hell has happened to this man? Iโ€™ve never agreed ideologically with him, but I donโ€™t remember his being this rabid. He practically foams at the mouth screaming about beating the hell out of a country. It seems to have begun when Trump came on the scene. Heโ€™s such an angry little man.
