In the morning, the sun crested over the horizon on a farmhouse turned completely upside down. But all their questions could be answered in the clarifying light of day.

Izzy sat at the end of the bed for a long time. How could she sleep after this? How could she sleep with this person in her house? All she could do was count down the minutes in silence while all her questions threatened to drown her. Waiting for the sun to rise.

Izzy stood up from the bed and pulled the comforter over the stranger’s body to better tuck them in for the night. As she turned to leave, the stranger caught her hand.

“Thank you,” they said, in a weak voice with an accent she didn’t recognize. They drifted off before Izzy could reply.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to hurt you,” Izzy assured the stranger. “I got you bandaged up and gave you some medicine. I don’t know how well it’ll work on you. Just try to rest for now and we can talk in the morning.”

She looked around for more clues but stilled when she saw she wasn’t alone. A face hovered somewhere above her, bright eyes twinkling like stars in the darkness of the room as they watched her. She recognized this creature - it was a human. Did she really crash on earth?

When Lora woke up, the sky looked so different. It was like…a tree? She was still a little disoriented and didn’t know what to make of it. With the confusion came some pain that almost made her nauseous. What the help happened? How did it all go so wrong? Nothing made sense.

It was only getting colder and it wasn’t safe to stay out much longer, so Izzy made a command decision. She listened for a heartbeat and, once she found one, gathered up the stranger to throw onto Java’s back. She could ask more questions after the rescue.

Izzy arrived quickly, and rushed to the stranger’s side to deliver first aid - but then she saw their face. They were…pink? And their clothes were glowing? Still, they looked mostly human. What is this?

Izzy and Java ran to see if the stranger needed help. It was odd for someone to be out in the canyon on foot so late, which could mean something was seriously wrong.

When they finally turned around to head home, they were stopped by a sound.

Something in the path ahead glowed vibrantly in the darkness. Izzy wasn’t sure what it was at first, but Java was intrigued. And then she realized - was that a person?

The stars gradually came out and they stayed for a while to trace some constellations over the ridge.

Izzy and her horse Java rode away the afternoon in the canyon, exploring all the trails and caverns, and found a nice spot to watch the sunset at the end of the day.
