Progress is about systems, not goals.
Tiny forces shape galaxies.
The body rewards consistency.

Your best day this year won’t fix your nervous system.
Your brain doesn’t actually know the difference between a major life event and a small, repeated experience —
it keeps score by frequency, not drama.
One perfect vacation won’t outweigh
small, daily moments of meaning, autonomy, or connection.
In 2026:
Don’t chase outcomes.
Choose alignment. Practice consistency.
And If you have to spend all year finding your alignment, that alone is a huge success!
Once your #alignment meets your consistency, the outcomes will take care of themselves. Let it happen.

Self-concordant goals → Last longer when they align with your core values (Sheldon & Elliot, 1999)
Forget hype. Choose identity.
Start by asking:
✔️ Who am I becoming?
✔ What can I do consistently to live into that?
✔️ What no longer serves that version of me?
This is incremental alignment

Psychology research agrees:
Identity-based habits → Stick when they reinforce your sense of self (Clear, 2018)
Implementation intentions → “If X, then I do Y” plans increase follow-through (Gollwitzer, 1999)
Most people chase outcomes in January. But outcomes fade. (Extrinsic) Motivation burns out.
What lasts?
Alignment. (Your Intrinsic motivation)
And consistency with actions based on who you want to become. (Attainable incremental small actions)
