My friend's dad used to be a magistrate. He's a mess of a man. Few morals, a superiority complex and his life is spent keeping up appearances for his friends. He was estranged from his son and his daughter's mental health is deeply damaged. The system is broken if it gives people like that power.

It was the beginning of the end.

I appreciate that maybe about a third of Americans oppose this, but as a nation the US stands for nothing but callousness and greed now.

My life is on sheets of paper and Post-its on an eye-level cupboard door in my home office, including a list of who my friends are because I tend to forget they all exist! Sent consent for treatment today, just prescription payment to go and then hopefully life gets better.

Genuinely gutted about this. When they retired, my parents were considering getting a motorhome and I took them to a factory open day here. The staff were all friendly and so enthusiastic about their craft and keen to show us how the caravans and motorhomes were made. So desperately sad.

I've refused to enable their unfettered right wing racist propaganda dangerously masquerading as 'balanced and trustworthy' output since they wheeled out the Tufton St mob as a series of endless talking heads during the 2019 proroguing of parliament.

The business of 'mattering' depends on who we matter to, so there can be no universal truths with subjectivity.

So if we decide something matters we need to work out what to do about it. I count myself in this number, and we're not doing very well here.

When UK nationals are killed either our armed forces or our civilians through retaliatory terrorism, I will hold Starmer and this screwed up government responsible.

Seems this breed of politician is now all but extinct. Passionate, with a moral compass and, vitally, a real talent for clearly expressing their ideas. No performing to score points like the current batch. Just there with a purpose.

It's imminent. Have had to repeat all the forms and blood pressure checks again since my GP's systemic failure held the process up by 3 months and then there was the ECG, but there has been a flurry of notes from Psychiatry UK over the past week. This time next week life may improve forever! 🤞🤞🤞

Well we finally made it. 🌞 I think this may be my favourite time of the year. Even the quality of the daylight improves as the sun rises higher in the sky. All the good stuff to come starting with spring equinox, and the clocks going forward.

I thought both of these things too, but I also ate Ready Brek - despite loathing the skin on the hot milk Mum served it with - because I thought I would get a magic orange glow.

So very relieved, but I hope this result doesn't breed complacency. Looks like Spencer fought a great campaign. She's relatable, sensible, likeable and a good orator. We need more like her.

Pretty sure I've still got the 1990 one somewhere. I owe a chunk of my sense of humour to Smash Hits.

I see deer when I'm out there and see the swallows/martins gathering in autumn. The changing seasons. The sun on your face, the wind in the trees, the fresh air and sound of the birds. It's magical and when I'm disconnected from everything else, I somehow feel rooted and calm when I return.

It's clear from previous conversations that you already heartily disapprove of housing estates just like mine and lifestyle that involves driving like mine. In fact all the things that give people like me joy and comfort.

The world is fucked anyway. Why bother?

Look, I perfectly understand that solar power is better than a dead planet & that the panels need to go somewhere, but why is that somewhere one of the key places that make my current life remotely worth living?
