And I don't need to ask leading questions of my witnesses because I prep the fuck out of them.
However, despite my best efforts, I did ask another leading question. Opp counsel objected.
Judge: Sustai... Oh wait. Overruled! Attorney Finch, I apologize, I forgot you were on cross.
I have had this happen to me once. I was doing cross examination and opposing counsel objected to me asking a leading question.
The objection was sustained.
Now, this was a witness that was "my" witness that Plaintiff had called in their case in chief.
I didn't argue, because I pick my battles.
OMG I love this judge so much. He literally just reversed his initial ruling as to whether an objection was sustained.
