Perhaps in this imagined crossover world, Hudson & Connor would gain fame by being cast in a Payne Pictures biopic about Ilya & Shane? Technically 2026 is several years ahead of where we currently are in Babes. So Hollanov might be Hall of Famers by the time the biopic is being made.
This mostly feels true because the Mates AU feels like a world where some of the NHL would be openly queer. (Mates is set in an alternate universe 2020, so the events of HR would be in the past by the time it starts.)
Does this mean Rose Landry has starred in a Payne Pictures film? Maybe!
This is a very fun question 💛 And the answer that feels most true to me (since I was first reading these books while writing Mates in 2022) is that Mates would exist in the same universe where Shane & Ilya are stars of the NHL.
If Mates H&L were hockey fans/living in the US, they'd be into them.
