The exchange has been bonkers for a few years now. When we were there in 2024, we ate at an extremely nice bbq place in Osaka, and maybe paid $75 for two people.

I grew up being told that a college degree was the end all, be all. And I no longer believe that. You should get one if you want one.
Also, if having a bachelor’s is all that important, there are some pretty shitty people in charge that are also well educated. So what does that even mean?
That’s to say, I’ve known plenty of people who never got a bachelors and are some of the smartest and most capable people in what they do.
Not everyone does well in a structured educational environment like that. They learn in other ways.
