Some of the safest, kindest critters that I know in my communities are also into some of the darkest stuff - sometimes even much darker than I can handle.

So there are many things I find upsetting, but not every make-pretend game that's upsetting to me is immoral. That's not how morality works.

In fact, what I often find is a lot of make-believe games (whether sexual or not) are often not intended to mimic reality at all. Vore is not realistic. Most porn isn't.

Porn is very often deliberately unrealistic - it is the *subversion* of reality that makes porn so fascinating.

Sometimes when you see media that's upsetting to you, your mind might jump to "but who likes that? Doesn't it say something about them that they enjoy it? That they indulge the fantasy because they want the reality."

But that's very often not true! Both girls and boys like to play witches nowadays.

And pretend things can be frightening or upsetting, they can make you feel repulsed or angry or sad - and those feelings are valid - but it doesn't make it not pretend.

Unfortunately, when we lose sight of that, it can make it easier for real people to do real terrible things that hurt others.

You have to be able to understand that play-acting make-pretend IS make-pretend. having a healthy relationship with any artwork or role-play starts with that fact. It helps us set up boundaries, it gives us a frame of reference to tell when behavior is actually bad. <3

I don't talk down to anyone who is upset about fiction. God knows I have my own share of media I can't watch or talk about because it bothers me to see. Not just that I don't like it, but that when I see it, it hurts. It makes the world feel wrong.

But I do expect critters to know the difference.

Digitigrade legs are specifically called out as not allowed, if you draw NSFW of an anthro with the normal furry leg shape (ie the large paw reverse joint) - my reading of the ToS at least is that you are violating policy.

Yeah - I suspect that they will not be consistently enforced, but.. I think very often there's an assumption that vanilla NSFW will make it through these kinds of bans.

If they are enforced, that won't be the case here. The majority of NSFW furry artwork including anthro stuff will not be allowed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe that Fanbox requires explicit content be censored *everywhere*, not just on the platform?

Would I be required to also censor my artwork even when it's posted to public galleries off of the site?

It's not something I'm ruling out, but it's not something I'm particularly optimistic about right now.

Will Subscribestar do that?

I don't know, but I don't take it as a given that they won't. And while I am looking at this kind of thing, it's just very very difficult to (on a platform that is already a fraction of the size of Patreon) build an income when I have to keep my page a secret.

This is a thing I've looked into - the difficulty is that it makes it extremely difficult to advertise any of these platforms. It takes a lot of advertising and linking in order to build up any kind of following on these sites.

Patreon/Kofi have been known to do link crawling to find artists.

Again, I will do my absolute best to update supporters with information as soon as I get it.

I want to proactively ask for some patience during this month as I try to sort some of this stuff out. Between taxes, Subscribestar, all of this stuff.. I suspect it'll be a busy month.

In other words, I can't just wait for a ban. I'm moving slowly and cautiously, but in the long-term, I can't put myself in a situation where I might owe $600 worth of work to critters, and have Subscribestar just.. refuse to give that money to me.

So the stakes are higher than just a ban.

I'll move as quickly as I can and try to figure out different options, think through what I can and can't offer using other platforms.

It is extremely possible that my Subscribestar may need to be shut down. It's dangerous for me to accept income if that income can be withheld.

In the short term, I will hold off on uploading weekly updates to Subscribestar while I am trying to figure out how these terms will be enforced and what options I have.

I don't recommend signing up for Subscribestar at this time.

Honestly.. I mean, no way to sugar-coat it. This fucking sucks.

Certainly my artwork (both fatal vore and endo/cozy stuff) is not permitted under these terms.

I do not have an alternative platform to Subscribestar in mind - I'm not sure that an alternative exists. The only thing I can do is pay attention, get information and flesh out the site, and wait.

The anatomy restrictions as I read them would only allow essentially humanoid characters: catgirls, etc..

The majority of even anthro artists that I know draw legs, genitals, and body parts in ways that I suspect would fall afoul of this policy.

I want to be proactive in making sure that no one can possibly lose access to rewards that they have paid for.

But beyond that, I have no idea what will happen.

If the terms are enforced as they are now, I do not believe this is a viable platform for NSFW furries (of any kink).

There's not much other info I can give other than the link to the new ToS. Ironically, this change now makes Patreon a more permissive platform than Subscribestar.

But we don't know how terms will be enforced, timelines, anything like that.

So I can't give information until I have it.
