I never said they shouldn’t. It’s also the law.
Fixing the distorted audio only solves 1/2 the problem; the constant barrage of announcements remain. Safety messages should be limited to interchanges, and superfluous language needs to be cut. Keeping announcements short is essential, especially since everything must be repeated 'en français.'
Or donate it to the eventual Toronto Museum.
Brad loves to grandstand and knows how to bait a media ecosystem that will take it. That said, not all his ideas lack merit—platform screen doors, for example. If pushing them forces other candidates (hello, Chow) to commit at key stations, that’s a win. toronto.citynews.ca/2026/03/05/b... #TOpoli
It’s striking how suburban the LAC feels on its site—barely addressing the street on most sides and pretending to sit in a park on others. And it’s not as if it was built in the 1960s, either. urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/03...
The question is a bit off: GO Expansion will bring subway-like service to much of the region and may be more impactful than adding another subway line. Still, it’s encouraging to see progress on major projects, even if completing those would only begin to close a generational gap.
There are downsides, but many regional rail stations—and even some subway stops—are still surrounded by seas of parking and few nearby amenities or housing. Better “last kilometre” options could help, and might even make it easier for some suburban residents to go car-free.
It also reminds me of this, which went nowhere…

Any reason why Bell Canada removed Sky News? BBC News is great for international coverage, but it rarely carries U.K. domestic news. Sky filled that gap. Considering Charles III is Canada’s head of state, it’s always surprising how hard it is to get U.K. news here. forum.bell.ca/t5/tv-stream...
'The Isle of Dougs.' Looking for a silver lining, placing it somewhere between Exhibition and Humber Bay would at least guarantee an Ontario Line (Line 3) extension. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

Noticed something else… while the app smartly has a dark mode, the app’s tile does not.
Finally moved from a Big 5 to #EQBank this afternoon! 🎉 It’s been great so far, but there’s a friction point: manual entry for e-transfer recipients. Adding an ‘Add from Contacts' feature would make the app 10/10. Let's make it happen! 📲
Fully in favour of bringing trash receptacles in-house. That said, it may make sense to wait until the contract for the rest of the street furniture is finalized. Otherwise, we risk ending up with bins that don’t align with the overall design vocabulary of the other fixtures across the streetscape.
Only in BlogTO-land does “permanent” mean "ditching." Not even their headlines are proofread I tell yeah. www.blogto.com/city/2026/03...
That headline makes it seem like his own siblings are the ones bringing the accusations. Still, this is another disturbing case in a long pattern surrounding MJ. I suspect and hope he’d be in serious legal trouble or even prison today if he were still alive. pitchfork.com/news/sibling...
Permanent standard time was likely the better choice. Still, it’s encouraging to see a province put an end to this unhealthy biannual ritual. It also demonstrates that we don’t have to wait for the U.S. to lead the way — even if ON and QC have been holding back for it. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
I might have preferred East Harbour over Exhibition Place as the catalyst for the new district. But this makes Exhibition Station’s grand plans — and the decision not to value engineer them — much easier to understand.
The existing law remains in force. Beginning construction is not contempt of court, even with the Supreme Court of Canada scheduled to hear the appeal later in 2026. No stay has been granted in this case.
Snøhetta does excellent work, and I think this looks surprisingly good. That said, I’d still rather it stay where it is.
If Toronto didn’t already have a science museum, Ontario Place would be a compelling place to start. But the city does have one on an a spectacular Don Valley site — that will soon be served by two subway lines. Which makes this new proposal a good place to stop. urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/02...
I’ve been locked out of Instagram for almost a week now, even though the appeal screen said reviews usually take just over a day. I honestly have no idea what I did — it only mentioned “irregular activity.” Any advice, or is this just a waiting game?
I get that, but there’s a longer-term angle: if the fan experience is gradually eroded, the audience will shrink over time, which could eventually hit revenue—though that’s hard to see when rights deals keep climbing.
And there it is… Bari Weiss running CNN no longer feels entirely out of the realm of possibility. www.tvtechnology.com/business/mer... #CNN
Sports rights shifting to streamers is the enshittification of the sector. Sure, they may pay more than terrestrial broadcasters, but rights fees aren’t the whole story. The fan experience — now fragmented, paywalled, and harder to navigate — matters more. www.tvtechnology.com/regulatory-l...
I’d be very surprised if the next-gen Loblaw — Shoppers Drug Mart and No Frills stores — actually looked this open and transparent. Reality check: they’ll likely line the windows with shelving inside and slap cheap vinyl photos over the glass on the outside. #Loblaw dailyhive.com/canada/no-fr...
