Medical debt & bankruptcy after traumatic injury in Michigan: Study shows who’s most vulnerable Combining statewide trauma registry data and credit bureau data shows privately insured and uninsured patients face highest risk of severe, persistent financial burden after trauma

As medical debt grows in importance on the #healthpolicy front, our IHPI team leveraged Michigan's statewide trauma registry—based at our institute—and deidentified credit report data to examine the lasting financial effects of traumatic injury. What we found: ihpi.umich.edu/news-events/...
