A juvenile Dimetrodon giganhomogenes in an Early Permian forest of Walchia piniformis pines. The youngster looks over in astonishment as a Captorhinus aguti makes its escape beneath the safety of a fallen stump after it broken its tail off in the predators jaws.

Two panel comic. Panel 1: a museum display of a megalodon jaw fossil, with some museum goers standing around it. There is a graphic on the information tablet next to the fossil, depicting the approximation of the megalodonโs full size compared to a human. Panel 2: โ3.6 million years ago:โ we see the true megalodon as it existed, a small shark with ludicrously large, juicy lips.

Golden hour. A large snake the size of a python with a paddle-like tail emerges from under a carpet of floating ferns to breathe, briefly alarming a group of duck-like Presbyornis in her wake. Circling her with interest are shoals of smelt, bowfin, cutlassfish, eagle ray and sand tiger shark; investigating this newcomer to their brackish ocean.
A large Palaeophis tolapicus makes her way to the north pole to enjoy the Arctic summer.

A male Tapejara wellnhoferi. Not only does it have a larger and fluffier head crest than the female, it also is experience partial leucism in its fuzzy coat.
A female Tapejara wellnhoferi, also chilling in a tree. I wanted to emphasize the potential for sexual dimorphism in these pterosaurs by giving the female Tapejara a smaller head crest and less extensive pycnofibers on its crest.

An extinct muntjac-like deer with branched antlers.
Palaeoplatyceros hispanicus- a muntjac-like deer from the Middle Miocene of Spain. Numerous antlers found on Otero Hill in Palencia allow to trace the age-related dimorphism of these animals. The illustration shows an adult, possibly even old, animal and a younger deer in the background.

Vector illustration of Dibango volans, a bizarre fish from the Monte Bolca lagerstatte of Italy. This tiny fish is overall long and thin, with a large anal fin that stretches down its length. It's body is suspended in a large flag shaped pouch connected to its small head, with long trailing pelvic fins and a very long first ray of its dorsal fin. The fish is grayish and semi transparent, with bands of yellow on its long fins. Text reads: Dibango volans. Donald Davsne and Giorgio Carnevale.
