Underwater cleaning bot continues their hard work
Currently working on the core loop - removing all the 'dirt' from each section of the map, compacting down the materials and using those to create better cleaning tools!

Racing game took a hard pivot.
Underwater trash cleanup. Wow, environmental statement! In this video below I'm working on the vacuum mechanic.
aaand finally saying a (perhaps not so fond) farewell๐ซก to Unity and embracing the new world order of Godot ๐ค

In general I found the progress updating to be really off (only noticed once I added that really clear UI element!) so Iโll probably just rewrite a lot of it
It uses some expensive spline operations but I think I can be smarter than that ๐ค

Added the required-by-arcade-racing-law finish line cutscene
(also noticed this bug just now where you come first after losing?!)

Mysteries of Old Tokyo, my debut game, is in Steam Next Fest, starting right now! It's a detective adventure puzzler set in Tokyo, with reams of historical research. Add to your wishlist! Try the demo! #indiegames #steam #demos

Problem is so many (especially in the indie space) prey on naive devs and are definitely just sleazy salespeople

Best one Iโve heard is good promotion is telling others about your game so you stop annoying your partner with your excitement about it

Yeah thatโs a good point. The damping is a bit low and does indeed need some tweaking

Doing some camera work + boosting this evening
Not sure I'm happy with the golden bubbles - maybe the classic "hoop" or arrows on the track?

I have been using Unity now for *YEARS* and still every time I setup some collision or trigger volumes, spend a lot of time tripping over myself debugging why on earth it doesn't work the first go.

Added some rudimentary engine sounds. Not super happy with it yet, but the doppler effect is pretty neat
I'll need to spend some time in front of Logic Pro to work it out myself rather than this random synth snippet I found online.

Made a neat "end of race" follow cam.
One of the fun things is dynamically swapping out the player controls for the enemy AI controller once you cross the finish line.
It reminds me like in Mario Kart when suddenly your character is bad at racing lol

Getting closer to an aesthetic and overall design goals ...
I think "F-Zero but underwater" has a real VIBE to it and so much potential for cool environments

Sounds like my Samsung monitor which
* has a solar powered remote (I live in the sub-arctic) which is required to exit the home screen
* which the monitor INSISTS I visit after it does some random flickering
* which happens a few times a day until I unplug it and plug it back in again

What about a game where you spectate races ๐คฃ

Picking up a (very) early prototype on an F-Zero type race concept.
There's a fancy buoyancy / wave simulation under the hood keeping the "car" from touching the ground so when it touches other cars, objects etc. it should behave more like a hover car โจ

Pinpoint by tombasche
Find and help the survivors
I made a thing for a game jam.
It's a 90's adventure-game-inspired point and click where you scan the airwaves looking for survivors in a post-apocalyptic world.
Fun twist at the end. Doesn't take long to finish โ๏ธ
