Question:
Anyone else discovered that their public-view-linked Canva documents/newsletters from the past 30-ish days are now ONLY visible to viewers as a video, so they can't move on to any pg except 1?
If so, got a solution?

Copy of picture book biography THE WIRE ZOO by Natasha Wing with art by Joanie Stone stands on a woodgrain table with a roll of silver wire in front of it. A sign says "Meet artist Elizabeth Berrien" and has a photo of the author with one of her wire sculptures next to a picture of the cover of the picture book.
Student made heart shaped wire sculpture on a woodgrain table.

We're celebrating Women's History Month in the makerspace by creating art inspired by picture book biographies. Today we made wire sculptures inspired by Elizabeth Berrien as featured in the book THE WIRE ZOO by @natashawingauthor.bsky.social w/art by Joanie Stone. #kidlit #SchoolLibrary #TLSky
This would be a superior gift.

a tan long-haired dachshund with incredibly floofy ears sits with his front paws on a window sill and his nose pressed up against the window. he's accompanied by his stuffed squirrel friend. their reflections stares back at them. Stevie the dachshund does not see the irony in watching for squirrels with his squirrel friend. he's too busy being locked in on the happenings outside his window.
This is Stevie. He's on squirrel watch. His stuffed friend is also a squirrel, but he's one of the good ones. 14/10 (IG: longdogstevie)
This blows.

This is Brew. He heard how bad the sock market is right now. Thought it would be a good idea to save up. 13/10 (TT: brewthegoldenn)
I had a great time talking with Steve about an idea gained at the @aaslala.bsky.social conference in October. It resulted in a whole school shared experience that brought the community into our school and focused us all on literacy and Black History Month!

Bell rings. Zero pages printed. Not even connected to the printer yet.
Which, TBH, is pretty much how I figured the whole situation would go as soon as I saw that kid come through the door. π
Me: OK, sit here, follow these step-by-step directions.
S: OK.
2 mins later, S comes to my desk: Did I select the right printer?
Me: Nope. You have to follow Step 1 (plug in the printer cable) and steps 2-4 before you can do Step 5 and pick the correct printer.
S: Oh.
3/
Me: Are you signed in on a CB in your class?
S: Yes.
Me: OK, get it & come back.
Figured this might use up all of the 5 mins, but there was a slim chance it would be faster than going the long way around.
Kid comes back 2 mins later - great. We might be able to do this.
2/
Kid whose pace is best described as βglacialβ under ideal conditions moseys into library 5 mins to end of pd. βCan I print?β
If Ss come with a signed-in Chromebook, printing takes 2 mins., tops.
If they come w/out a CB, printing takes a minimum of 5 mins.

And PSA: Did you know there's an option in the Amazon's Security section that will sign your account out of any devices other than the one you are using at that moment? Definitely worth a click every once in a while, just in case.
Just did 2 hrs of parent tech support. Turns out, someone WAS getting into my dad's Amazon acct. I believe we managed to shut that down. Ended up changing a bunch of passwords (again, as he's been having security concerns for the past few months).

For all 3 books, their "most shelved" category was "smut"
So, thanks for that, BookTok.
(Yes, I made her a list of alternative recommendations. No, she did not pick even one.)

7th grader requested I purchase 3 books. Couldn't find them on my usual vendor's site.
Checked the public library, saw they were there. Normally, I'd let the student know. But out of curiosity, checked 'em out on Goodreads...

Changed the flashlight's batteries, clicked it on to make sure I put 'em in the right way, and managed to stare straight down the barrel of the stupid-bright bulb.
Currently touch-typing this post as my eyeballs try to re-adjust. π
Tubi, why do you offer S5 E7 and E9 of BARONESS VON SKETCH SHOW, but not a single other episode?
That's a weird thing to do, Tubi.

At the end of our library classes this week 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders are selecting a book to read with their younger buddy for our big event next week. The Goldilocks comparison of choosing a title with not-too-few words and not-too-many words is resonating.

"You can sit in a comfy chair to read!" Student reply, "I don't sit so good." This is a child who knows herself. Stand up and read that book, kiddo!
