He's got an enormous number of reps. Just a staggering amount of practice and shots on goal. The meta skill to getting great at almost anything.
If you think they are wrong, you should consider gathering refuting data and publishing it! Science!
When large-scale property owners move in and convert suburban homes to rentals, rents in the area fall, along with levels of class & racial segregation. Here's a link to a summary of a paper on the topic, along with a link to the paper: x.com/paulnovosad/...

When you say "ban corporate ownership of single family residences" what that actually means is "ban renters from living in certain neighborhoods. That's very bad. Especially when you consider that renters tend to make less money than owners.
Blackstone, and other institutional investors, own an inconsequential number of homes.
It's fine to have rental housing. In a ton of neighborhoods there is too much owner occupied housing and essentially no rental housing. This is mostly a bad thing.
Have you looked into californiaforever.com ? It's pretty rad. I hope they can make it happen.
The law the legislature passed specifically requires a conductor that spends their time opening and closing the doors. They won't be allowed to walk the aisles if Hochul doesn't veto the bill.

Remember everyone: black smoke = no pope; white smoke = new pope; green smoke = Nicolas Cage has disarmed all the rockets.
chamath gives the winkelvii a run for their money at least
I'm curious about why and would love to hear more!
(I know almost nothing about jet engines)
Also on the apology list are all the people who refused to rank Garcia even 5th because they didn't view her as lefty enough.
:)
No, but perhaps I should!
I emailed them and told them they'd entered the wrong email address in their system and never heard back since.
Hopefully they got their money at some point and didn't just give a car away in return for a bounced check!
Making markets illegal creates black markets and all the problems that come with them.
Sure, social housing is great! But it's also important to remember that Vienna allows tons and tons of private development as well. Much more than is legal is most American cities.
The taxes from that private growth help fund the social housing.
When financial institutions invest in real estate they might shift a few people from being owners to being renters. This has some pros and cons. It is 100% for sure not worse than shortages which do in fact price people out of the market.
No one is forcing anyone to do anything.
This whole conversation is especially amusing in the context of State Farm which is a mutual insurance company which means that the policy holders are the shareholders.
#3 is not a real option. If an individual insurance company tries to do that then they will lose all of their low risk customers to insurance companies that don't do this.
Calling a mom who couldn't use an elevator because a troubled person was camping inside of it a right wing troll is a shitty thing to do. We're about to spend a bunch of CP money building elevators.
What's the point if our lack of ability to deal with the homeless will make them unusable?
I don't think that person is a right wing troll. I think not being able to use an elevator while transporting a small child in a stroller is a big deal. A whole lot of the money from congestion pricing is going to be spent on elevators. People should be able to use them!
It's worth noting that donations to Wikimedia (which is likely what you are donating to) don't really support Wikipedia.
You might (or might not) want to support those other things as well. Worth knowing the difference though. x.com/AskYatharth/...
Anyone who thinks this is true is an idiot. I'm sure Bezos will spend a ton on his wedding, but that $600M number is quite obviously made up.
Gotta make a version of those Heisman House commercials, but with former mayors of NYC.
Oh, he's weird for sure. Just saying there's a lot of competition for that title.
DeBlasio just got dumped by his lesbian wife. Giuliani is out there claiming he can't afford to feed himself. Ed Koch and his "How'm I doing?"
