Joke's on me because they make more money than I do, but I do feel sorry for influencers because the only way they can move forward in their careers is to sell out their voice and following to make vapid sponcon.
Will be thinking of you, Helen! Hope it all goes well.
Me being the distant third-place gamer in the household reached a new low today, with my partner playing Stardew Valley on our (my) Switch and our son playing Minecraft on our (my) Xbox. Meanwhile, I'm relegated to reading the paper in the corner of the room. Time to take up whittling.
If you can still get a ticket, don't miss this! I'd be there if I were only allowed out in crowds. (BFI IMAX audiences are always considerate, but people on the Tube and the South Bank are blissfully unaware of personal space until they smash into it.)
I can't speak for the new releases but our individual IMAX screenings tend to sell well. Usually, the deciding factor is whether enough time is given for comms, coverage and outreach. You'd think that would be simple, but it's not always possible.
We're showing a great range of films though! Can't wait to share them.
I do love it! And this is a really nice mix of films. Usually I try to space things out a bit though.
Hosting 5 film screenings at 4 different cinemas in the next 2 weeks. Help.
One week until we screen Mamoru Hosoda's BELLE on the biggest cinema screen in Europe!
New screening!
Good timing, the film's out in a couple of weeks. www.vertigoreleasing.com/movie/exit-8
I've never played the game but it was a big one for fun Tiktok playthrough clips.
*Absurdly* short notice but we're screening the Oscar-nominated ARCO along with a selection of short films by director Ugo Bienvenu, followed by a recorded Q&A with the man himself.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday, Helen!

All I want for my birthday is for everyone who sees this to buy #TheMangaBible or borrow it from their local library. If you buy it from an indie bookstore or bookshop.org that's even better because it shares the love even further.
Suplexed a ghost train
We've got a few Ghibliotheque screenings coming up in March. Here's the first!
๐ฝ๏ธ NEW SCREENING!
To mark the release of Mamoru Hosoda's new film, we're presenting a special screening of his digital age spin on Beauty and the Beast... BELLE!

Uh oh, I hadn't even started reading the capsules so I missed that...
As I said, good effort!
Good effort from the Empire lot though. A great encapsulation of feature animation from a mainstream English speaking audience pov.
20 Disney/Pixar films.
