I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
The response to this, the mass mobilization and grocery drives etc has been gigantic compared to when COVID hit. No anger, just truth. I'm seeing all the ways folks learned from everything we did before and improving and building networks that will live on and on. I love this city.

I have had so many closer calls (while walking/biking) with drivers than this ICE agent and somehow I never murdered someone over it.

A mom was murdered today for having the gaul to look out for her neighbors, and to care about the safety of her community in the face of armed, masked goons.

Nope. This is one of the original LRVs for the blue line repurposed as a test train. Metro Transit has already put the new Siemens LRVs for SWLRT in revenue service so they outnumber the older bombardiers at this point.
I find it so frustrating to watch non-revenue busses make the return trip...
Having all-day all-direction service will be grand.
So glad to get these final shots before I ran out of power.
Around 3pm they turned on the overhead wires and operated the train under its own power for the first time! So cool to see the letter boards light up and the bell of the bombardier ring at Southwest Station.
