Boycott everything. All the businesses that are quiet. All the businesses whose CEO’s bow to the Führer. They care about money and power. We will vote them out of power asap, but we can freeze the economy now.

Restrictions had unequal impacts, but the pandemic itself did too. - Boston Review Adam Kucharski responds to Stephen Macedo and Frances Lee.

New piece on why it’s unhelpful to characterise COVID debate as ‘lockdowns are bad’ vs ‘lockdowns are good’ when it was really about people who claimed that COVID was 100x less fatal than it was + optimal to have a massive epidemic immediately before vaccine… vs those who sense checked these claims.

I hope that someday those responsible for this will be held accountable. I worry that they won’t be and that we will all suffer the consequences of the selfishness of those currently in political power.

This is heartbreaking. As a School Committee member during Covid, I relied heavily on information provided by the TH Chan School of Public Health and its scientists to guide our decisions. Seeing these institutions attacked for political reasons is sad, terrifying, and enraging.

Thanks for sharing! This will be great to include in courses where we analyze lead. Especially for lower level courses where we haven’t covered reading scientific style papers yet.

5 takeaways about NPR's reporting on the whistleblower report about DOGE at the NLRB Here's a summary of NPR's findings about the report that a whistleblower filed to Congress about how DOGE violated security protocols and could have removed sensitive labor data.

After DOGE accessed the NLRB's systems, someone with an IP address in Russia tried to log in, Berulis stated.

Whoever attempted to log in was using one of the newly created DOGE accounts — and the person had the correct username and password, according to Berulis.

“We should all care about each other…” uhhhh yes, that’s why voting for the felon is a problem - because it shows you don’t care about what happens to *other people*.

Ice director wants to run deportations like ‘Amazon Prime for human beings’ Todd Lyons said he wanted US immigration agency to be ‘like a business’ in its deportation process

My 14-yo’s response (they are taking AP Modern World this year). “That sounds like the Holocaust. He knows the Holocaust was bad, right?”

About once a week I think about the lifelong Democrat I spoke to in South Carolina who almost voted for Trump because of “the economy”. This past week I’ve thought of her multiple times a day. I hope she takes solace that her vote for Harris *was* a vote for a strong economy. And I hope she’s ok.

This is a big deal. Spread the word. But it’s tiny compared to the totality of what’s happening at NIH. Cure Research for all cancers, Alzheimer’s, everything is being gutted. Intentionally. It’s all getting burned to the ground but the news isn’t getting out. The new cures won’t be there for you.

Think about dividing the cost by the number of times you will wear them. Sometimes spending more up front is actually a better long-term investment if you an swing the up front cost. Plus, comfortable, quality footwear is worth extra, imo.

Hey folks. I went to the Hands Off rally on the National Mall. I’m sharing in this thread a series of photos that I hope will, well, give all of you hope. (I add a short comment for each.)

I’ll give the women who dressed as suffragettes top billing:

Several hundred were at today’s #HandsOff protest in #SalemMA.

We’re proud of our legacy of resistance to tyranny and of our community values, which are directly informed by our city’s unique history.

We’re a place that wants to welcome and work for everyone.

And nothing will change that.
