There was Fëanor, the greatest Elven smith ever, and he made the Silmarils from the light of the Two Trees, but they were stolen, and he and his sons swore an oath to reclaim them.

This Elwing cosplay just got more and more elaborate as I went on, but I'm so happy with the results. Just a few stray stitches needed here and there to make sure everything on the reveal mantle is secure, and it's good to go. Just in the nick of time!

No, you're right to drag it up again. My biggest concern is that he will eventually abandon this blog name and re-invent himself at some point. Wash, rinse, repeat. Ugh.

Everything is finished for the Elwing #cosplay except the cloak with layers of seafoam and seawater for the reveal!
I wish I had tracked how many hours of beadwork I put into this.
Including shoes, dress hem and neckline, belt, and headpiece, probably around 200, if I had to guess.

I particularly love the imagery of Fingolfin's arrival in Mithrim: Sun flaming behind him, blue and silver banners, flowers springing beneath his feet. It's so dreamy and powerful.
