When you just learned about the preschool potluck yesterday, and itβs scheduled to start 15 minutes before you normally pick up your twinsβ¦ you bring the donuts.
Congrats @danielaurbinaj.bsky.social !!

"I was certainly not expecting how intensely popular it would be with adults," Neiburger added. #IFeelSeen
Peak #AnnArbor townie: wearing a library summer game shirt, refreshing the election results to see whether the library will get even cooler, smelling a skunk from my open window.
Twin toddler bedtime stories:
A: βonce upon a time, there was a rabbit, and a bunny, and a rabbit, and a bunny.β
B: βwhat did the rabbit, and the bunny, and the rabbit, and the bunny do?β
Iβm in!
We hit up 7 different playgrounds across Ann Arbor this weekend.
Oh cool! Iβm excited to read it :)
This looks great, congrats!
#WeAreDEI rally on the University of Michigan Diag, in beautiful evening light.
Faculty senate resolutions are attached to the doors of the Ruthven building beneath a #WeAreDEI sign. The logo above the doors says "Truth conquers by itself".
There was a big #WeAreDEI rally and march at U-M this evening. Started on the Diag, then off to Ruthven where the 4 new resolutions of the faculty senate were posted on the central administration's doors.
Great turnout at the UM #weareDEI march!
βI think Iβve seen this film before,
and I didnβt like the endingβ¦β
We decided last year to switch off until our kids get a little older so that one is not related to the insanity of US politics, just to the insanity of twin toddlers :)
Iβm skipping!
What about here?
For @truthout.org , @hebagowayed.bsky.social and I wrote about how universities have opened the door to Trumpβs authoritarianism by suppressing pro-Palestine voices and how they must commit to the principles of academic freedom and free expression before it is too late.
βPeople will die,β said Dr. Catherine Kyobutungi, executive director of the African Population and Health Research Center, βbut we will never know, because even the programs to count the dead are cut.β

These data were used to make crucial policy decisions, and to provide many countries with vital information on child health, nutrition, and other indicators.
At this moment when science is under threat, this feeds the narrative that people who use these data are removed from real life, which couldnβt be further from the case.
Happy to see coverage of the termination if the dhs, but disappointed to see it called βobscureβ in the very first sentence. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/h...
Heart wrenching decision, the DHS are an incredibly important data source. They have long been the only option available for studying change over time in individual- or family-level outcomes across Africa. My heart aches for everyone whose research, teaching, and other work depends on them.
All star authorship team! π€©Congrats and looking forward to having this one on my shelf
Twins just discovered the toddler sized carts at the grocery store⦠one went on a joyride through the frozen aisle, while the other knocked over some flowers. Both were still given suckers at checkout, which proves that people are good at heart.
Going on my door tomorrow- thanks @sashakillewald.bsky.social!
Trends is definitely for the cool people- you always wanna be a trendsetter π
A little bit about my research:
I am studying geographic disparities in health and mortality and their environmental and structural determinants. My previous research focused on state and county levels, but I am now shifting to an individual-level approach for better causal inference & explanation.
