Yes, good to meet you too. Hope your wife wasn’t put off from my Dad’s wind up about the size of the Raft Spider!

A huge thanks today to @gavindurrant1.bsky.social (warden at @suffolkwildlife.bsky.social Carlton Marshes) to show us at close hand the Vacant Emperors and @rob-murray.bsky.social for great advice at the reserve. Couple of shots of the VEs in tandem, a distant Red Veined Darter and Fen Raft Spider
A great trip to Anglesey, and the tern colony at Cemlyn Bay gave me opportunity to practice flight shots with the Canon R7 and RF 100-500. Loved the Arctic Terns. BIS blustery but the light was good.
A great week away in Suffolk with Dad. Spot Sand & GR Warbler en route. Early morning on the Suffolk heaths is just magical - Nightingales, Woodlark and Dartfords in particular. Also getting into East Hide at Minsmere for 0630 to see what’s on the Scrape. RF Falcons seen well 😉 #suffolkbirding
Managed a pre-work trip up Titterstone Clee this morning. Lovely light (when the sun poked above the hill) for the Ring Ouzel to pose in. One of 3/4 seen. Also good views of Wheatear. #UKBirding.
Lovely evening light for Grimley’s Black Necked Grebe #worcsbirds. Third year running recorded at the site, after a 20 year absence.
I can see that photo gracing the pages of the WMBC report for 2025!
Wonderful!
British birding has many highlights, and we’ll all have our own favourites, but I do think it’s hard to beat being at a Black Grouse lek at dawn in early spring. Simply fantastic …
As Craig said - toggers getting too close!
Team Grimley #worcsbirds doing the checklist.
Rather you than me!
Cheers 🍻
