I’ve never been. Never wanted to. My sons have, though and all they tell me about it confirms my choice. Particularly the attitude of petty officials, as someone in another post pointed out. Also, I’ve met a fair number of Americans in the UK and couldn’t get away from them fast enough.

Americans don't understand that the rest of the world just laughs when they claim to be the country of 'freedom'. They get about 4 days off work a year, no maternity or sick leave, no free healthcare, democracy is owned by billionaires, you arent even free to cross a street.

I appreciate it's cliche and pointless to note this, but I don't think that six months into her term a hypothetical President Kamala Harris would be suing MSNBC, Bill Gates and The Guardian for reporting on her close personal friendship with a paedophile.
