We have been getting a lot of questions about changing jobs lately. I thing that there is something in the air that is making people think twice as to how they are selling their time.

Iβve also started working with βI am allowed toβ¦β and βI give myself permission toβ¦β Both great phrases for clearing out ideas that I know are BS, but I still hang onto anyway.
BUT! If I say βI am learning to loveβ¦β or βI am open accepting that Iβ¦β both of those are true. I AM learning. Iβm just at the beginning of the process. And I AM open to the idea, otherwise I wouldnβt be doing this in the first place.
So I can choose a negative self-talk speaking point, and flip it to what is rather be telling myself.
The trick is to rewrite it in such a way that my brain doesnβt automatically reject it. For example, if I try to change βI hate the way I ___β to βI love the way I ___β, my brain rejects that.
This is why affirmations help so many people. They are literally rewriting the thoughts they keep thinking until the new ones overpower the old ones.
Been working my way through The Artistβs Way by Julia Cameron. At the very beginning she suggests using affirmations to clear out negative self talk. That idea used to feel too woo-woo, even for me, until I realized that beliefs (such as negative self-talk) are just thoughts you keep thinking.
102 stitches tonight In-progress capture of The Wizard of Oz Tree by tiny modernist cross stitch. Tucked into the bottom of the Q-snap, you can see a rainbow over the towers of the Emerald City. On either side of the rainbow, striped sticking with red shoes hang down from a tree branch. Each side of the branch also sports some leaves and a red flower. And there are some red blobs. And some colorful clothing. The Needle minder shows the backs of two angels, one with black wings and one with white. Three of the wings hang loosely behind them. One of the white wings is lifted above the head of the angel with black wings, as if to guard him from falling rain.

On the right, a white rose with yellow and pink highlights. On the left, green leaves. Over both, the following text: My husband crossed over unexpectedly, and I have been feeling overwhelmed. I would like to know if my financial situation will improve, and if I will be able to find trustworthy help to manage my [property. And what do I need to know about my husbandβs transition from the physical realm to the spiritual realm?

Itβs been a while since my last cross stitch post. So hereβs my update. I have no idea how many stitches since the last time I posted. But I can tell you that tonight I did a total of 151 stitches.
A golden compass, pointing North, rests on a hard wood surface. The text next to it reads "Iβve been clearing energies of toxicity for several months now it has left me feeling very lost. I am looking for help finding the right thing to focus on over the next six months".

On a yellow background surrounded by questions marks, the text reads, "I am getting close to retiring from a job I love because of mobility problems. I have to start the process of leaving, paperwork, etc. I don't know whether I should start this summer or wait until January. Which should I choose?" At the end there is a graphic of a calendar.

Went to see the Lilo and Stitch remake. In the middle of it, Mr. Shiny leans over and says, βI get what heβs your favorite. He speaks to your inner brat.β
I mean, yeah. L&S are both neurospicy, too.
Anyway, it was good. I loved it. I shall add it to my collection when itβs available to do so.

Itβs funny how adding a contrasting color lets you see the white better. Both in the stocking and the clouds.
