Local RAG search over PDFs and notes using Ollama or LM Studio - badvision/obsidian-rag
I've released an Obsidian plugin (MIT License) to add RAG support for searching your markdown and PDF files. Uses a locally-hosted (Ollama/LM Studio) LLM so no data leaves your computer, period. Keep it local, keep it safe! Please contribute git issues or PRs. github.com/badvision/ob...

More Claude fun: Chief Architect is a very powerful software package, but the documentation is too much for mere mortals to read. I asked Claude to build a smart agent that digs through the provided manuals and builds the answer to my questions directly. Better than search, it tailors the answers!

I was faced with two thousand pages of documentation for a complex software product. Claude created a ollama-based answer bot for me that uses a RAG database scraped from the docs to answer questions, or tell me if there's no mention. Not only does it work but it's honest when there's no answer!

To the engineers that trained the machine vision model used by Walmart self check-out cameras: In no uncertain terms, go fuck yourselves.

Curious to see that markdown table performed any differently than pipe-delimited, considering markdown tables are pipe-delimited also. How reproducible are these results? Also it would be nice to see accuracy vs input token usage compared in a 2d plot as there is a cost/performance tradeoff.

I appreciate the prompt and courteous reply. There's no real resolution here, I've already blocked my PTO with my employer and can't change. Just do better. Stop gouging plane ticket prices. You Wednesday flights were overbooked because your Thursday flights were over-priced. Do better.

The challenge is trying to figure out how this is relevant or useful content. Maybe don't scrape random websites to generate content and clicks.

@americanair.bsky.social it's a nice feature to offer alternative schedules for free during check-in, but I bought my ticket less than a week ago. If you didn't want my flight to be overbooked you shouldn't have charged 2x for flights the following day so close to the departure. Not changing.

Squix / ESP32 font editor
Squix / ESP32 font editor. GitHub Gist: instantly share code, notes, and snippets.
Got really tired of the default ESP32 display font, so I wrote a font editor and made a couple of better fonts with it.

STOP Protocol (works with Claude-4)
S)earch for existing implementations
T)hink about existing solutions and why they don't work
O)utline how solution integrates with existing patterns
P)rove new abstractions are necessary
This has forced a lot more forethought and prevented needless rework!

I can explain over drinks but likely the phenomenon is due to "eventual consistency" design decisions in how they built the thing.

@juliemariesmith.bsky.social I can understand your reaction. Bias might come data used for training, a reflection of researchers injecting their own bias intentionally or not. Harder to control, is the common cultural bias prevalent in average representation in media. It reflects the zeitgeist.

I haven't studied up on how blue sky works, but being decentralized it might not be as "realtime" as other social apps. I could be wrong though.
