the profit is negligible but it's there, and that counts for something. it makes it worthwhile to at least try. and even if it doesn't work out i still learned stuff and enjoyed myself through the act of creating something. can't regret a thing like that.

but i'll like doing it for the same reason i like doing porn. it's fun. i can take pride in it. it doesn't pay a living wage on its own but it's still money i didn't have before, and i was paid that money because someone thought i was worth investing in

i don't think it'll ever be a full time job, or even something i could pay my rent with. i post porn weekly on justforfans on my main account (pupintransit.bsky.social) and that nets me $200 a month at best. drawing for money is almost certainly gonna be the same way

instead i will say "here is a series of five muscular tiger men. you may purchase one to do what you will with. no modifications"

i wanna have my art be a product i offer, sold as is, and the folks who are interested in it can throw some coins my way if they so desire

i've wanted to do art professionally since i was a child reading newspaper comics, but i want it to be on my own terms. i don't want to do commissions, it would stress me out too much.

a project i'm working on is a run of adoptables. this is not finished but i think it's getting there. i'm competent enough as an artist to where i'm confident selling characters to folks

the cool part about being mostly competent with krita is that it doesn't matter that i drew this dude's head too fuckin' big because i can futz with it on the computer afterward

ugly is more interesting than beautiful. the duty of the artist is to disgust their audience

the game would still be good even if it looked like modern tech, but it's the fact that it doesn't is what's partially making it such a sleeper hit. the game is hideous, and that's what makes it so compelling

battlefield 6 came out three days ago and looks the best a video game has ever looked. and yet, the talk of the town is still no i am not a human. when n.i.a.n.a.h. isn't jpegs on top of jpegs you can literally count the polygons, and still its visual quality is being praised to no end
