CCA to permanently close its doors | The List The beleaguered arts centre will commence a formal ‘winding-up process’ immediately

The Centre For Contemporary Arts (CCA), Glasgow’s long-running arts centre on Sauchiehall Street, has announced its intention to close its doors with immediate effect.

‘Even if we’re not subject to the same level of heavy-handed state interference in the UK, there is a growing culture of self-censorship, risk aversion and the excision of capital-P politics from theatre, which we don’t have to accept. The loss of freedom occurs by increment, until it comes in a rush.’
