You should check out Kristen nagle. Former NICU nurse who hosts conferences on β€œfree birthing” where Billie Harrigan presents. She now β€œsells gold” in an mlm scheme & just moved to Nicaragua. Pushes German new medicine, her child’s fever is just β€œseparation anxiety”

My 80 yr old mom loves my tattoo (fireweed) and my 85 yr old dad wants me to make him a β€œgaza” tshirt. They text me when one of my β€œnice people take drugs” tshirts is on the news. Wait, I think my parents are cooler than I thought….

Two bodies were missed at B.C. death scene. Was treatment of coroners to blame? What police did not notice at the time were the bodies of missing Indigenous teenager Noelle O'Soup and a woman called Elma Enan

Canadian Press reporter Darryl Greer reveals the coroner did their investigation remotely in the case of Van Chung Pham, whose room contained the remains of a vulnerable youth and woman that were not found for months after police attended Pham's death. vancouversun.com/news/two-bod...

Essential enough to be ordered back to work. Not essential enough to be paid for all their work

Sadly the CBC titled and referenced β€œairborne fentanyl” rather than β€œsecond hand smoke”. I definitely used to get crack smoke headaches working in a downtown unit but never got β€œhigh” as a title of β€œairborne crack” would imply…

Listened to an interesting cbc show this morning about the motivations to be in army when one is anti-govt. extremist groups may advise it in order to get the weapons training.

Yes. But that doesn’t mean all folks in the army are white men. Just sharing my observations of a military unit in vancouver. There was racism present but the army members are evolving.

I dated a reserve military guy not long ago. He was Chinese Malaysian. Outgoing commander south Asian Kenyan. And 80% of reservists in the unit were south Asian (strong military service background) and Asian. The white guys were the old retiring ones.

@cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social should do a story on the BC govt cutting all services to people w/ long covid. There is no longer any clinic, doctor, or service that can meet the needs of 1000s of people. As a nurse I sacrificed my health to serve people during the pandemic & I’ve been left in the dust

I often wonder if undiagnosed gut issues in childhood contributed to low mood, depression, & anorexia. I didn’t start sorting out my gut until my 30’s. & continue to learn how gut dysfunction is strongly associated with long covid (which I also have). No wonder I’m interested in guts & sanitation!

Studies have shown that COVID had caused an increase or new onset of mcas in 30% of people. With long COVID I now need to take reactive bid. I’ve never had allergy issues in my life prior

The only doctor seeing Long COVID patients in BC has 4500 patients. No specialized care or appointments. Not even prescribed meds were covered for me & I’m a nurse with a good health plan. Talk about neglected!!!! I literally have to β€œdo my own research”.

This 1987 video on Alberta’s opposed to seat belts demonstrates the β€œalberta mentality”. If the govt says you should do it, people are automatically opposed. Despite evidence and common sense.

I’m often embarrassed to say I’m from alberta. ironically, they have one of the best vax tracking systems in the country thanks to the public health clinics & that 99% of vaccines are administered by nurses in public health clinics vs BC ragtag system of childhood vaccine admin.

Even as a student nurse in calgary 20+ yrs ago, aside from pockets of some religious groups, I learned in my public health rotation that the biggest group of non-vax folks were well educated moms who were swayed by health influencers.

Allow me to address the elephant in the room: The decades-long outsourcing of domestic manufacturing to China was not an insidious Chinese conspiracy for dominance but the greedy strategy of the American ruling class to explode its profit margins by exploiting global inequality.

Shirts for queer youth at a drop in community. The leader shared they rarely see a shirt with a positive message about their identity. The youth brainstormed sayings and I put them on shirts. I hope they like them!
