Smaller things like that. Easy to forget but they add up a lot and make the experience much smoother.

Also I was just told the sanitised stuff wasn't from commitment accuracy; it's actually self censorship to make the game more sensitive.

Can't say I agree as it makes those specific bits of dialogue less impactful from a writing standpoint.

Wording changes that made things flow a lot more naturally. I can't point to specific examples but that's how I felt playing the remake; things felt cleaner compared to GCN.

Riddle Tower having new lore written down was also a very nice change.

It would be an exaggeration to say that the new script is awful (it made a lot of good subtle changes), but I do think the pursuit in accuracy made several things worse.

Namely the catcalling Goombas and the fake Zip Toad.

Localisation isn't bad, and it's very easy to dismiss good changes.

Switch remake would be what I personally recommend, if solely because of how expressive the characters are.

That said the GameCube version is still solidly one of the best things ever lol
