Right but if I was 15 and wanting to make something specific, I could use Vital or any number of open source synth clones, the same way that budget orchestral sample libraries exist. I'm not saying ~every~ method of production is cheaper, but there are crafty and frugal ways to get any sound.

Trying to think of a production technique that is cost prohibitive:
Modular has VCV rack, VST plugins work as well as hardware
Realistic symphonic sounds are hard to get on a budget, but they also just require work even with a good library

Anyway, god forbid anyone has to make art under constraints

Working class implies limited time or cost, to me.

For cost, music production has been historically incredibly cheap for a decade or so, mainly because everyone already has a laptop or tablet.

For time, I’ll give the standard “why am I taking time to to listen when you didn’t take time to write”
