This Italian torta is based on a recipe in the magazine La Cucina Italiana. It is a great magazine, but it stopped publishing its English edition in 2014. This recipe was in the last issue.

Cherry Almond Delight.

Melt 4 Tbsp of butter in the serving dish. Make a batter with a cup of flour, cup of sugar, tsp baking powder, a cup milk and a tsp of almond abstract. Pour over the butter. Poke in 3 cups of cherries; add sliced almonds on the top. Bake 50 min at 350 deg.

Easy Peasy.
