That is crazy but also so very human, so many of us underestimate our talents. And hers were considerable.

I look forward to listening – her 1957 album Stormy Weather is a bona fide underrated jazz classic. She often seems to get forgotten in jazz conversations; with all the kudos going to the equally fabulous Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday.
